Hello. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor based in Florida. I received my Master's Degree from Webster University and currently, I'm working towards a Ph.D. in General Psychology, from Capella University. I have been in private practice for three years. I help women who have experienced a variety of challenges of childbirth. Whether it's infertility, anxiety during pregnancy, fetal loss, postpartum anxiety/depression, and even menopause.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we will give introductions, I will gather important information, and we will get into the concerns on your heart and mind. This will support me in creating a unique treatment plan for our therapy sessions to be beneficial and successful.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked with children for 21 years as an educator and school counselor has given me a firm foundation in compassion and patience. Having worked with women who desire to have children for the last 4 years and being trained in perinatal mental health gives the client a safe and knowledgeable space to enter during therapy. Additionallly, I had both of my daughters after the age of 35, a miscarriage, a severe bout of postpartum depression, and now in the midst of menopause; gives me a personal perspective to relate to my clients.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

For the past 15 years, I’ve had the joy of using CBT to help both children and adults discover and embrace their emotions. This empowering journey not only teaches individuals to accurately identify their feelings but also encourages open expression, creating deeper understanding and respect in their relationships. It’s truly rewarding to witness this growth!

Christian Counseling

Welcoming God’s word, the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and prayer during our sessions can significantly enhance the healing process for clients. By integrating these spiritual elements, we can foster profound healing in the mind, body, and spirit.

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

When clients include their cultural perspectives in the session, it significantly enhances engagement and fosters the respect they both seek and deserve.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Cultivating the ability to be present is an essential skill, and mindfulness empowers us to truly focus on the moment and recognize its beauty. By engaging in practices such as mindful breathing, eating, walking, or listening, we create space to reflect on what genuinely matters in our lives. Embracing mindfulness not only enhances our awareness but also enriches our experience, making it a vital practice for personal growth and fulfillment.Taking the time to be in the present is a skill and mindfulness presents the ability to concentrate on the moment and the beauty in it. Whether mindfulness includes breathing, eating, walking, or listening it allows the individual the space to think about what is truly most important to him or her.

Psychoeducation

With 21 years of experience as an educator and school counselor, I understand the importance of equipping clients with skills that are not only enjoyable but also highly effective. By incorporating worksheets, videos, and books, I create an interactive therapy experience that captivates and empowers my clients to thrive. As a former educator and school counselor for 21 years, it is important to teach clients skills that are inviting, engaging, and useful. Utilizing worksheets, videos, and books is an important part of the interactive therapy I provide.
