New to Grow
I am a compassionate and client-centered therapist dedicated to helping individuals and couples navigate life’s challenges with greater clarity, resilience, and emotional well-being. My approach is grounded in creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to grow. I integrate evidence-based practices with a personalized approach to help clients build healthier coping skills, improve relationships, and create meaningful change. I also offer faith-integrated counseling for clients who wish to incorporate biblical principles and spirituality into the healing process.
During the first session, clients can expect a welcoming, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where we begin getting to know one another and discussing what brings them to therapy. The initial session is an opportunity to explore current concerns, personal history, therapy goals, and any challenges impacting emotional well-being, relationships, or daily functioning. We will also review important information such as confidentiality, the therapy process, and expectations for treatment. Clients are encouraged to ask questions, share at their own pace, and discuss what they hope to gain from therapy. My goal during the first session is to help clients feel comfortable, heard, and supported while beginning to develop a collaborative plan tailored to their individual needs and goals.
What sets my work apart is my commitment to showing up as a real, grounded human being in the therapy room, not just a clinician. I meet clients where they are without judgment or pretense and focus on creating a genuine, relatable connection that feels safe and authentic. I bring honesty, warmth, and transparency into the therapeutic process, allowing space for real conversations and real emotions. While I maintain professional boundaries and use evidence-based approaches, I also believe therapy works best when it feels human, not clinical or distant. My goal is to make the experience personable and approachable so clients feel like they are talking to someone who truly understands them, not just as a therapist but as a fellow human being who values real connection, growth, and healing.
I am best positioned to serve individuals, couples, and young adults who are seeking support with anxiety, stress, depression, relationship challenges, life transitions, self-esteem, emotional regulation, and personal growth. I work well with clients who may feel overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected, or uncertain about how to move forward, but who are open to self-exploration and developing healthier patterns of thinking, coping, and communication. My approach is especially supportive for clients who value a compassionate, collaborative, and nonjudgmental therapeutic environment. I enjoy working with individuals who want practical tools while also exploring the deeper emotional experiences that impact their daily lives and relationships. I also support clients who wish to incorporate faith and spirituality into therapy, integrating Christian principles and evidence-based approaches when aligned with the client’s goals and preferences. In couples counseling, I work with partners who want to improve communication, rebuild trust, strengthen emotional connection, and navigate conflict in healthier ways. Overall, I aim to help clients increase self-awareness, build resilience, improve emotional well-being, and create meaningful, lasting change in their personal lives and relationships.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as a structured, goal-oriented approach to help clients identify and change patterns of thinking and behavior that contribute to emotional distress or interfere with daily functioning. In practice, I integrate CBT techniques to support clients dealing with anxiety, depression, stress management, self-esteem issues, trauma responses, and behavioral challenges.
Motivational Interviewing
I use Motivational Interviewing (MI) as a collaborative, strengths-based approach to help clients explore ambivalence, strengthen motivation, and build confidence toward meaningful change. I commonly use MI when clients are feeling stuck, uncertain, resistant to change, or struggling with behaviors that impact their emotional or physical well-being. In practice, I use motivational interviewing to create a nonjudgmental and supportive environment where clients feel empowered to identify their own goals and values. Rather than directing or confronting, I focus on helping clients clarify what matters to them and recognize their own capacity for change.
Christian Counseling
I offer faith-integrated counseling for clients who wish to incorporate their Christian beliefs into the therapeutic process. When appropriate and aligned with a client’s goals, I integrate biblical principles, faith-based perspectives, and evidence-based therapeutic approaches to support emotional healing, personal growth, and overall well-being. My approach is respectful, client-centered, and tailored to each individual’s comfort level and spiritual background.
Couples Counseling
I provide couples counseling to help partners improve communication, strengthen emotional connection, and navigate challenges in their relationship in a healthy and constructive way. My approach is collaborative and supportive, focusing on helping couples better understand one another, identify unhealthy patterns, and develop practical tools for conflict resolution, trust-building, and emotional intimacy.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
In practice, I focus on building a strong therapeutic relationship where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered to explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences openly. Rather than directing the process, I work collaboratively with clients and support them in gaining greater self-awareness, confidence, and clarity.
