I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over seven years of experience supporting adolescents, young adults, and adults as they navigate life transitions, emotional challenges, and personal growth. I specialize in helping clients build coping skills, improve self-awareness and develop the tools needed for independence and healthy relationships. I have worked in the public-school setting, private industry, department of juvenile justice, department of children and families and in case management. Living an active life that consist of running, serving at my local church, facilitating a mental health book club and participating in networking groups keep me grounded and rejuvenated.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

The first session is all about getting to know you and understanding what bring you into therapy. We'll start by talking about what's been going on in your life, any challenges you're facing and what you'd like to get out of therapy. I'll ask some questions to better understand your background and your current concerns. We will discuss your goals for treatment.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I use evidence-based approaches focusing on helping clients build real skills. I help clients move towards independence, adulting and real-world functioning. I work well with clients who feel stuck and need help understanding the root of their problems. I gentle challenge clients to grow.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal client doesn't have to have everything together- but they are open. Open to self-reflection, learning new skills, and looking at patterns in their thoughts, emotions and behaviors. They are willing to engage in the process both in and outside of sessions, whether that's practicing coping skills, reflecting on their experiences or applying what we discuss in real life.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I use an approach called Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, or ACT. This approach helps you build a different relationship with your thoughts and emotions, rather than trying to fight or get rid of them.

Christian Counseling

For many people, faith is a core part of how they understand themselves, their struggles and their purpose. In our sessions, we may explore how your beliefs shape your thoughts, emotions, and decisions, and how your relationship with God can be a source of strength, healing and guidance.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In CBT, we look at how the way you think about a situation can impact how you feel emotionally and how you respond. CBT is a practical, goal-oriented treatment method.

Couples Counseling

I offer couples counseling as a way to help partners improve communication, rebuild trust, and strengthen their relationship. We will focus on understanding the patterns that keep you feeling stuck.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I utilize Dialectical Behavior strategies to help clients manage intense emotions, improving relationships, and building healthier coping skills. DBT is based on a balance between two ideas: acceptance and change.
