Are you experiencing frustration, confusion or turmoil in your life? Even to the point where you see no sense of direction while trying to navigate through life? At times, this can be overwhelming for individuals dealing with depression, anxiety, PTSD, including other mental health disorders. Hi! My name is Stephaney and I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida with almost a decade of experience in treating adults and adolescents for various mental health challenges and co-occurring diagnoses. I was inspired to become a therapist by my unique experience migrating to the United States at the age of 13 and attending middle school which was very challenging for me. Culture shock became my reality and one that would eventually lead me to “Severe anxiety.” Even with a very strong family support system, I felt alone and trapped by my own inner fears and self-defeating thoughts. Constant worry and fear of being bullied by my peers became my everyday experience. Through all these obstacles, I was able to process my feelings and experiences with my faith in Jesus Christ, supportive family, and a few good friends. To this extent, I have come to recognize the benefits of a strong support system and the need for social and relational connection. As a mental health counselor, I’m privileged to be a part of that support system for many people. I work with my clients to connect the dots between their thoughts, emotions, and actions, all while providing sound strategies to promote healthier thought processes. I believe that every human being deserves a chance to be heard and understood, and therapy has taught me that as human beings, we are more alike than different. So as your therapist, I’m excited to be a listening ear for you and help guide you toward your goals.
I will listen without judgment, move at my client's pace, see the world through their lens, and help them explore, identify and process their problems.
Being able to connect with my clients with the ability to build trust by listening intently to understand, and provide empathetic and supportive guidance to uncover the root cause of my clients’ problems, leading to a well-developed treatment plan and ultimately a successful outcome. “Let all that you do be done in love.” (1st Corinthians 16:14)
I enjoy serving the adult population by helping them gain the proper tools needed to overcome anxiety, depression, PTSD, including other mental health disorders.
I help my client recognize the influence of spiritual beliefs and practices and integrated faith base approaches to challenge their negative thoughts and behaviors.
I work with my client to connect the dots between their thoughts, emotions, and actions, all while providing sound strategies to promote healthier thought processes.
