LCSW, 12 years of experience
New to Grow
I’m Rashawnda James, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 12 years of experience supporting adults through life transitions, anxiety, and depression. I strive to create a warm and compassionate space where you can feel truly heard and understood. Together, we’ll explore your thoughts and feelings, build self-awareness, and develop practical tools that help you feel more grounded, confident, and empowered in your life. My goal is to support you in creating meaningful change and living a life aligned with your values. Outside of work, I enjoy hiking, watching anime, and traveling whenever I can—it helps me stay balanced and inspired, and I love bringing that energy into my work with clients.
In our first session, we’ll get to know each other and explore what brought you to therapy. I’ll listen to your concerns, discuss your goals, and begin identifying strengths and strategies to help you feel more grounded, confident, and supported.
My greatest strengths are creating a safe and supportive space, helping clients build self-awareness, and guiding them to make choices that feel empowering.
I work best with adults who are navigating life transitions, managing anxiety or depression, or feeling stuck in patterns that keep them from living fully. I enjoy supporting clients who are ready to build self-awareness, develop healthier coping strategies, and create a life that feels grounded and meaningful.
I use CBT to help clients identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns so they can create healthier perspectives and behaviors. In practice, I guide clients through strategies that build awareness of their thoughts, reduce anxiety and depression symptoms, and empower them to make choices that support their goals.
I use Narrative Therapy to help clients separate themselves from their problems and reframe the stories they tell about their lives. This approach allows them to recognize their strengths, shift limiting beliefs, and create new, empowering narratives.
I use ACT to help clients build acceptance of difficult emotions while focusing on living in alignment with their values. Together, we practice mindfulness, self-compassion, and committed action so they can feel grounded and move toward meaningful change.
I support clients in exploring their faith and spiritual values as a source of strength and guidance. Together, we look at how your beliefs can provide comfort, clarity, and practical tools for navigating life’s challenges while helping you feel more grounded and hopeful
