Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin building a foundation of trust and collaboration. I understand that starting therapy can feel both hopeful and uncertain, so I strive to create a welcoming, nonjudgmental space where you can feel heard and supported from the very beginning. During this session, we’ll discuss what brings you to therapy, your goals, and any concerns or questions you may have. I’ll also share information about my therapeutic approach and what you can expect from our work together. For children and adolescents, I take time to connect with both the child and their parent(s) or caregiver(s) to understand the full picture of their experiences, strengths, and needs. By the end of our first session, my goal is for you to leave feeling understood, supported, and hopeful about the path ahead. Together, we’ll begin identifying the steps that can help you move toward healing, growth, and emotional balance.
One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is my ability to create a warm, safe, and culturally affirming space where clients feel truly seen and understood. I approach therapy with empathy, curiosity, and respect for each client’s unique story. Whether I’m working with children, adolescents, or adults, I focus on building a strong therapeutic relationship that fosters trust, growth, and self-discovery. My approach is integrative and collaborative, drawing from evidence-based practices such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, and relational and strength-based approaches. I tailor each session to meet my clients’ specific needs, goals, and cultural contexts. I also bring a deep understanding of how identity, family dynamics, and generational experiences—particularly those shaped by colonization, migration, and cultural heritage—can influence emotional well-being. This allows me to support clients in exploring and healing patterns that may have been carried across generations, while empowering them to build healthier ways of relating to themselves and others. Above all, I am committed to helping my clients recognize their resilience, reclaim their sense of agency, and move toward a more balanced and fulfilling life.
My ideal clients are children, adolescents, and families who are seeking a supportive and understanding space to explore their emotions, strengthen relationships, and develop healthier ways of coping. I am especially passionate about working with youth navigating challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, behavioral concerns, identity development, or family transitions. I also enjoy working with parents who are striving to better understand their child’s emotional world, enhance communication within the family, and create nurturing, consistent environments for growth. My approach is collaborative, culturally responsive, and grounded in the belief that every child and family has the capacity for resilience and positive change. I also work with adults who are experiencing life stressors, mood or anxiety concerns, relationship difficulties, or challenges related to identity and self-worth. Many of my adult clients are striving to break generational patterns, heal from past experiences, and create more balanced and fulfilling lives.
I attend to approach treatment based on where my clients are and meet them at the place and space. I want to create a space where the client feels safe to learn and express their experiences and learn tools to navigate their space in a healthier mindset.
The client leads the treatment in which the therapist assists in navigating their space. My experience in working with individuals and families is to follow the expert(the individual) and assist them in discovering the tools that work best.
