First and foremost, I am a wife and mother. I have real life experiences that can relate to people. I have been treating clients for 25 years. I use real life, practical coping skills to help clients in real life situations. I have worked in community based centers, schools and therapeutic individual settings. These experiences allow me to have a clear, rounded understanding of people and their life situations.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Clients can expect a real person on the other end of the computer screen. I have therapy experience to back my credentials, but often people just want to be heard. Hopefully, after the first session, you will feel that I am able to hear you and know you are not alone. During our first session, we focus on getting to know one another and beginning to build a strong therapeutic relationship. This initial meeting is an opportunity to see if we are a good fit, as not every personality or approach works for everyone—and that’s okay. After a brief introduction, we will discuss what has brought you to therapy and explore your current concerns. Together, we will begin developing a treatment plan and identify goals you would like to work toward in therapy, at a pace that feels comfortable and supportive for you.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I have a Christian background. I can approach therapy along those lines, but not exclusively. I will use a variety of methods, strategies and therapeutic modalities that best fits each person. I have experience in helping those with stress, self-esteem, anxiety, relationship issues, post-traumatic stress, and abuse. I also have experience working with family and communication-related problems.
