In addition, I have experience in managing a residential community-based program for adolescents in addiction recovery as well as a FAMILY INTENSIVE TREATMENT program for Substance Abuse for Adults. This has also included working closely with families in the dependency system who are dealing with substance abuse, Domestic Violence and neglect. My counseling style is friendly, warm, and interactive. I believe in treating my clients with respect, regardless of their past, incorporating sensitivity, and compassion. My style and approach are eclectic, and client-centered, incorporating what is best suited for each individual and encompasses Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing approaches. It is a goal to help individuals and families learn and develop healthy coping skills to manage the emotional struggles that come with life and to find a place of peace and well-being. You have taken the first step towards change to address your need for a more fulfilling and happier life and I am ready to support, guide and empower you to accomplish your goals. I look forward to completing this journey with you!
During our first session, I will allow you time to question me as well as explain the therapeutic process and relationship. You will be provided an opportunity to ask questions about my knowledge as well. We will review your preliminary information you have provided and will begin the therapy process. My space is designed to be comfortable and therapeutic. There is a therapy support dog in the building that is not mine but he may visit!
