Hello, I'm Keith. I have been working in the counseling field for about 20 years working with children, adolescents, and adults. I understand that it can be difficult to take that first step and seek help, but by working together, I am sure we can make this a positive and helpful relationship. I have experience working with a wide range of mental health issues, and seek to provide a safe environment for individuals to explore how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors impact their quality of life, as well as the lives of those around them. I meet my clients where they are and work with them toward reaching their goals. My experience includes working with individuals who have suffered with abuse issues, self-esteem problems, ADHD/ impulse control, school issues, anxiety and depression, anger, as well as other mental health issues. I have worked with individuals of all ages 4- 65.
In our first session, clients can expect a supportive and non-judgmental environment where they feel heard and respected. I practice with unconditional positive regard, meaning I meet each client with empathy, acceptance, and genuine care for their well-being. We will begin by discussing your reasons for seeking therapy, your goals, and any current challenges you’re facing. I use a cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) framework to help identify how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected. Together, we’ll begin exploring patterns that may be contributing to distress and discuss strategies for creating positive change. The first session is also an opportunity for you to ask questions and determine if this is the right fit for your therapeutic journey.
I feel that my biggest strength is just meeting the client where they are and beginning the journey from there. Everyone is an individual and has their own story. It is important to listen to that story and then to work together to move forward in a positive and productive way.
I work with individuals navigating a wide range of emotional and psychological challenges, with a particular focus on those experiencing PTSD, anxiety, depression, men’s issues, and stress management. I am best positioned to support clients who are seeking to better understand their internal experiences, develop healthy coping strategies, and create meaningful change in their lives. My approach is especially helpful for those who may be dealing with unresolved trauma, emotional overwhelm, or the pressures of life transitions.
I have extensive experience using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. CBT is a structured, evidence-based approach that empowers individuals to identify unhelpful thought patterns and replace them with more balanced and constructive ones. In my practice, I use CBT to guide clients in developing practical tools for managing anxiety, depression, trauma-related symptoms, and stress. Together, we examine how negative or distorted thinking may be contributing to emotional distress and work to reframe those thoughts in a healthier, more adaptive way. I also incorporate behavioral strategies—such as goal setting, relaxation techniques, and activity scheduling—to support progress outside of session. By using CBT, my goal is to help clients gain insight, build emotional resilience, and develop lifelong skills for maintaining mental wellness.
