Are you feeling overwhelmed by daily obligations? Do you find yourself having difficulty focusing? Maybe you find yourself thinking you’re not good enough or feel like an imposter. I know exactly what you’re feeling: feeling things are out of your control, the tension in your body, the feeling you can’t possibly get everything done without disappointing others and you want relief now. Anxiety can be debilitating, and I don’t want you to have to suffer anymore. Those racing thoughts that feel uncontrollable do not have to be the main character in your life. I look forward to teaching you the strategies that will give you your life back. We’ll start by untangling your thoughts and feelings so you can gain clarity. By practicing acceptance, you can focus on taking actionable steps that move you towards your goals that align with your values. You'll develop effective coping strategies and thus gain resilience so you are better able to manage your stress no matter what comes your way. Life brings many challenges so your feelings are valid. I will actively listen to your needs and create a safe and supportive environment for you to freely share your concerns. I am here to provide guidance, support, and understanding. I hope to meet with you so we can work together placing you on the path towards mental wellness.
I will ask you to tell me about yourself. I will ask you about the frequency, intensity, duration, and history of your symptoms as well as more information on the current issues that brought you to therapy and its effects on various areas of your life. I will ask you about your strengths and your goals for therapy.
I believe my biggest strength as a therapist is facilitating a warm, safe, and non-judgmental environment for clients to feel comfortable enough to freely express themselves and discuss difficult topics.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, stuck in your thoughts, or unsure how to move forward despite your best efforts, you’re exactly the kind of person I’m here to help. I specialize in working with young to middle-aged adults who are high-functioning but often find themselves caught in patterns of worry, self-doubt, or perfectionism. You may feel like your mind is constantly on overdrive, trying to control or avoid uncomfortable thoughts and emotions which often leave you feeling exhausted. Together, we’ll use techniques from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) identifying your values so we can focus more on what truly matters to you. Rather than fighting these thoughts and feelings and allowing them to drive your actions, you focus on what is important and move towards that in spite of it and not because of it. My goal is to help you build the skills and clarity needed to live with greater intention, flexibility, and self-compassion.
I have over 7 years of experience utilizing strategies from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to treat my clients. I start by listening to my clients’ self-talk and helping them stop repeating thought patterns and behaviors that can cause them more problems in the long run. Once they have faced and accepted their current challenges, they can make a commitment to stop fighting them and, instead, start practicing more confident and optimistic behavior, based on their personal values and goals.
I have over 7 years of experience utilizing strategies from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)to treat my clients. I start by helping clients accept the reality of their lives and their behaviors, as well as helping them learn to change their lives, including their unhelpful behaviors by teaching them skills in mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness.
