Hi, I'm Sara. Here's what I want you to know: It's not normal. The answer to the question you've been asking yourself is, 'It's not normal.' Name-calling is not normal. Silencing yourself to keep the peace is not normal. That on-edge feeling is not normal. Feeling shame at the idea of others finding out how you're treated behind closed doors is not normal. You've lost yourself somewhere along the way, and you didn't even notice it happening. When did 'you' start shrinking? I help high-achieving, high-functioning individuals caught in controlling and abusive relationships see through the gaslighting, reconnect with their intuition, and shift from survival to self-trust.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During the first session, we focus on getting to know one another and getting comfortable. I will ask you specific questions about your history- to get a sense of who you are, what you've experienced, and what brings you to counseling. We will also discuss resources and how to connect with me between sessions to ensure your care remains prioritized.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My approach to counseling blends my psychodynamic training with CBT, EMDR, and Brainspotting to effectively treat trauma and PTSD, anxiety, and depression. As a Pakistani-American Muslim and a second-generation American, I am committed to inclusivity in my practice. I proudly serve other therapists and first responders, BIPOC individuals, and first and second-generation Americans.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I particularly enjoy working with individuals of Middle Eastern and/or South Asian descent, individuals who identify as Muslim or other religious minorities, and immigrants or children of immigrants/second-generation Americans. I also speak Urdu and would work well with clients needing services in Urdu or Hindi (verbal only).

It took me several months to find a provider I was comfortable with. She is absolutely wonderful. I am grateful I found her. She truly listens; Working hard to get to the root of issues, speaks with clarity, compassion, and understanding, and most importantly, you feel her sincerity. She genuinely cares about her clients well-being and over all health. I’ve been seeing her for 6+ years and she has brought extraordinary resources and a level of compassionate care I’ve yet to find elsewhere.

She seems kind and caring, in her tone and words. It made it easy to talk to her.
