Hi, I'm Sara. I specialize in working with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma/PTSD, perinatal mood disorders, and survivors of psychological, emotional, verbal, or physical abuse and/or domestic violence. I work with individuals who feel stuck, lonely, or overwhelmed, even when they are doing their best to cope. Many are exhausted from carrying the emotional weight of their relationships while struggling with self-doubt, heavy expectations, or the effects of emotional, psychological, or physical abuse. I also support women and couples navigating infertility, pregnancy loss, and perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. I offer a warm, trauma-informed, culturally affirming space to slow down and feel understood. My work supports immigrants, second-generation individuals, BIPOC, and others navigating emotional pain, faith, family expectations, or relationship strain. Therapy is paced with care, helping you release self-blame, build compassion, and feel safer within yourself.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
During the first session we will get to know each other. I will ask you specific questions about your history to get a sense of who you are, what you've experienced, and what brings you to counseling with me.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
As a Pakistani-American Muslim and a second-generation American, I am passionate about working with ethnic, racial, and religious minorities, especially those of Middle Eastern or South Asian descent, or those who identify as immigrants or children of immigrants.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I particularly enjoy working with individuals of Middle Eastern and/or South Asian descent, individuals who identify as Muslim or other religious minorities, and immigrants or children of immigrants/second-generation Americans. I also speak Urdu and would work well with clients needing services in Urdu or Hindi (verbal only).
Brainspotting
I am trained in phases 1-3 of brainspotting and often use it to help clients manage anxiety, symptoms from trauma, or other issues.
