I am an African American female therapist specializing in helping individuals navigate grief, depression, anxiety, trauma, and self-esteem challenges. I provide a compassionate and culturally attuned space where clients can feel supported and empowered. My goal is to help you heal, grow, and reclaim the life you're ready to experience. By holding space for your emotions and guiding you through the journey of self-discovery, I can help you break through barriers, rebuild your confidence, and move towards a more fulfilling, joyful life.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In your first session with me, you can expect a welcoming and supportive environment where we begin building a foundation of trust. We will start by discussing what brings you to therapy, including any challenges you're currently facing, whether it's grief, depression, anxiety, trauma, or self-esteem issues. This session is an opportunity for me to get to know you—your background, experiences, and goals for therapy. We'll also talk about what you hope to achieve through our work together and how I can best support you on your journey. This session is all about creating a safe space for you to share your story at your own pace. There’s no pressure to dive into everything right away; I’m here to listen and understand. By the end of the session, you’ll have a better sense of what therapy with me looks like, and together, we’ll outline the next steps to help you move towards the life you’re ready to experience.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I feel that my greatest strength as a provider is my ability to create a safe, compassionate space where clients feel truly seen and heard. My deep empathy, combined with a culturally attuned approach, allows me to connect with clients on a meaningful level, helping them feel understood and supported in their unique experiences. I am skilled at holding space for difficult emotions while guiding clients toward healing and growth. This balance of warmth and professionalism enables me to empower clients to reclaim their lives and move towards the fulfillment they deserve.

My treatment methods

Brainspotting

I often use Brainspotting to help clients uncover and process beliefs that developed as the result of relational traumas, or childhood abuse and/or neglect.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT because it helps clients see the difference between beliefs, thoughts, feelings, and frees them from unhelpful patterns of behavior.

Grief Therapy

Every grieving experience is different. A person may be able to continue their day-to-day routine after one loss, yet not be able to get out of bed after the loss of someone else.

Eclectic

I believe that because we are all very different and experience emotions and experiences differently, flexibility and creativity must be a part of the counseling space.

Trauma Informed Care

While many people can recover from trauma over time with the love and support of family and friends and bounce back with resiliency, others may discover the effects of lasting trauma, which can cause a person to live with deep emotional pain, fear, confusion, or posttraumatic stress far after the event has passed.
