Hi! My name is Daniel. I am a therapist that is licensed in the state of Florida as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. My hope as a therapist is to work alongside you as you explore understanding yourself in new ways and finding out how to work through challenges you may be facing. I have worked with clients over the past three and a half years in areas related to anxiety, depression, anger management, parenting issues, and connecting to meaning and value as a person. I would be honored to partner with you on your journey towards reaching the life you wish for yourself. It's not always an easy thing to risk the vulnerability to begin therapy, but you have already shown incredible strength with taking this first step to begin with. Be proud of that. I look forward to potentially meeting with you on the next part of your journey.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we will go over brief introductions between one another, important information related to the therapeutic experience, answering questions about your specific situation and working on a plan to meet your needs. It is possible this process can extend into our second session before taking steps forward to meet your specific needs.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

One of my greatest strengths is connecting with you in your journey to better understand where you are and be as much of a support as possible. The connection between a therapist and a a client is the most important part helping you find what you need. My focus is on this, utilizing it to connect to your needs and be a support in joining with you to move towards where you desire to be.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I enjoy working with individuals who are in states of transition between different phases of life, facing challenges and needing insight into how to solve their problems, finding how to bring peace to the turmoil of anxiety and depression and parents needing support with the many challenges that can come from one of the hardest jobs anyone can take on. My goal is to partner with you and help you find the strengths that are within yourself to get you to where you genuinely desire to be.

My treatment methods

Humanistic

A humanistic approach is a core focus of mine with clients as it helps to focus on meeting your needs and then building from there towards a meaningful and fulfilling life. Two central issues present for us a human beings are struggles with connection and meaning. Many of our problems tend to stem from these and finding meaningful ways to build them for you can lead to reductions of anxiety and depression and increases of overall happiness and well being. I have developed this from view points as a social worker with understanding that who we are as people is highly influenced by the multitude of things and experiences surrounding us. A humanistic approach takes this perspective into light and attempts to utilize a whole holistic approach to meet needs and create a wonderful and fulfilling life.

Eclectic

I would venture to say most therapists function from this place; with identifying what someone's specific needs are and then utilizing the wealth of knowledge and experience they have to make approaches and apply interventions that are specific to those needs. Sometimes this moves away from doing what might be considered 'typical' in therapy because each individual is complex and what may work with one sometimes just does not with another. Eclectic means seeing you for who you are, seeing what your needs are and then being centered on you as a whole to meet your specific needs to reach the outcome your desire. I apply this to each individual and have utilized it as a person-centered approach to best understand and meet your specific needs.

Polyvagal Therapy

I have used a polyvagal approach with clients to help them better understand how their body responds to stressors as well as equip them with how to regulate them as well. What this means is having a stronger relationship with yourself and understanding what you need to feel calm and weather the storms of life as they come.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I have utilized mindfulness based therapy to help clients connect to the present moment in their lives which promotes a stronger relationship with self and others as well. A hallmark of anxiety and depression is pulling you out of where you actually are into what feels like a battlefield within your own head. Mindfulness helps to pull you away from this and settle the alarm that causes us to feel like a mess.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have helped patients with this form of therapy to assess their thinking patterns to gain insight into thoughts that often undermine the quality of life they want to have for themselves. CBT can be quite helpful with bringing change to your inner world and then seeing the results lived out in your daily life.
