Hi! I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) based in Florida. I received my Masters in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University and have been practicing for 5 years. I help children, adolescents, and adults face challenges that have impacted them at some point in their life, and reclaim their stories so that may have a better quality of life.
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions. I will also review intake documents and the general flow of therapy. Then I will ask about some specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
My clients often tell me that the most important thing to them is to feel heard. And that my ability to provide them space to express themselves is healing in itself. I have diverse experiences in different counseling settings, with evidence based interventions that are known to improve mental health. But regardless of the intervention, you will have a therapist who shows up and walks the path with you every week.
I love working with individuals who are open to the possibility of change. My clients often feel stuck, overwhelmed and anxious about something going on in their life. Whether it is work, their relationship, or the season of life. But with a small bit of trust that things could be different, they enter therapy eager to make that hope into a reality.
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to challenge unhelpful thinking and replace it with positive, adaptive thinking. This helps reduce mental health symptoms and improve overall mood.
I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), which is used to treat target distressing memories and experiences. By processing these experiences, you can get relief from PTSD and other mental health symptoms.
I consider myself to be a multicultural counselor. This means that I view each client through a multicultural lens. I take into account the client's identity and how it may impact their mental health and ability to receive treatment.
