Welcome! I am so proud of you for taking this first step towards growth and healing. Asking for help may not be easy, but it is a sign of strength and bravery, both of which I know you have living inside of you. My name is Kayla and I would love the opportunity of working together with you to find different ways of navigating the stressors encompassing your day to day life . I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based out of Houston, Texas and I received my master's degree from Sam Houston State University. I have been practicing for the past 3 years and I have experience working with individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, self-harming behaviors, trauma, and low self esteem and have worked extensively with survivors of domestic abuse and sexual trauma. I offer a person centered approach that is tailored to addressing your unique needs, while utilizing techniques and approaches derived from cognitive-behavioral therapy, existential therapy, and dialectical behavioral therapy.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together we will start out with brief introductions and then conduct a thorough intake assessment to fully explore the challenges that brought you to therapy. This will help provide information that I will utilize to tailor a specific treatment plan for us to work on together in future sessions.

What makes me unique as a therapist is that while I strive to create an environment where you feel safe, heard, and understood, I also make it a priority to identify and build the strengths you already have living inside you to be your most authentic and genuine self. I aim to guide you on a journey of empowerment towards living a life full of meaning, purpose, and authenticity.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have years of practical experience utilizing CBT methods and techniques with people in response to many different mental health concerns such as depression, anxiety, trauma, mood dysregulation, and stress. While CBT has a structured framework I make sure to tailor this approach for each individual for a person centered approach to their unique needs for treatment.
