Thoughts of scans, tests, treatment, and side effects can be overwhelming. Do you feel like you should be living a life filled with gratitude, but instead, you feel lost? I specialize in providing grief and trauma support to individuals and caregivers who are facing cancer, chronic illness, or major life changes. All of these experiences share a sense of powerlessness. Through our work, you can regain a sense of control and find peace despite the challenges in your life. Together, we can develop a personalized set of coping skills to help you overcome the anxiety, depression, and grief that often accompany these life events.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
My goal is to provide you with a secure and nonjudgmental space to promote personal growth and gain insight into yourself. Once we start our sessions, I'll let you take the lead and decide which direction we should go. Depending on your situation, I’ll encourage you to express your feelings, process them, and assist you in finding solution-focused approaches to manage and cope with them. I’ll provide you with exercises to practice the therapeutic skills you learn, as that's where lasting change occurs.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
I take pride in creating successful therapeutic relationships by helping you identify and hone in on your deepest passions and strengths. I am an active listener and engaged therapist, whose approach creates a space for vulnerability so that you feel empowered to begin your healing process. I will help you feel supported to live a fulfilling and joyous life. I am warm, authentic, and participatory while maintaining a direct approach; with my empathetic support, you’ll move from just surviving to truly thriving!

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I have successfully used CBT for clients to help them with irrational thought patterns and cognitive distortions. I use it to pause clients' automatic thoughts to then guide them through unpacking their statements. I have found it to be effective for clients experiencing depression and anxiety.
Daialectical Behavior (DBT)
I have successfully used DBT to help clients with problem-solving, regulating emotions, and developing coping skills. These new skills empower clients to put more action behind changing unhealthy behaviors. I utilize DBT to help clients learn emotion regulation help them maintain successful personal relationships, and make healthier, less self-destructive, and self-sabotaging decisions. I have found it to be effective with clients who engage in unhealthy behaviors and choices, as well as those with underdeveloped emotional intelligence.
