(she/her)
My journey in helping others meet their mental health goals began at Westfield State College in 2004, graduating summa cum laude with a bachelor in social work. After raising 2 children I returned to what had become Westfield State University and completed my masters degree in one year with the goal of becoming a clinical therapist. Since that time I have worked with clients from 12-90 get the support they need.
Our first session is the building blocks of the therapeutic relationship. I do alot of listening, asking questions that help me understand what lead you to therapy so that I can help you be your best self.
Being able to guide a person through their mental health journey is the best thing a therapist can do for their clients. Empathy, compassion, understanding, an ability to match the therapy that works best for the client are the tools the provider uses.
Over the years I have worked in a variety of settings that gives me a unique insight into persons with chronic illness, grief, young adults, ptsd, first responders and military.
As I find many suffer from trauma's in their life this treatment is one used most times.
Sometimes we get blocked by the stress in our lives and don't realize how strong we really are. This type of treatment gently brings patients to their strengths that will help lead them to the therapeutic goals.
