My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In my therapeutic practice, I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to empower clients to identify and reframe negative thought patterns, fostering healthier behaviors and emotional well-being. With 30 years of experience as a Licensed Professional Counselor in South Carolina and Connecticut, I blend traditional CBT techniques with holistic approaches, including mindfulness and somatic healing, to address anxiety, trauma, grief, and life transitions. This comprehensive methodology supports clients in achieving greater self-awareness and lasting positive change.

EMDR

In my practice, I utilize Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help clients process and heal from traumatic experiences, including those related to anxiety, grief, and past trauma. EMDR is a powerful, evidence-based approach that allows clients to reprocess distressing memories and beliefs, transforming them into more adaptive, positive thoughts. By engaging both the mind and body, EMDR helps clients reduce emotional distress and build resilience. I work collaboratively with each individual, creating a safe and supportive environment where they can explore their memories and feelings at their own pace, leading to profound emotional healing and growth.
