Hi. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor based in New York. I obtained my Masters at Baruch College and have been working in field of mental health since 2017. I currently provide therapy sessions to both young and middle-aged adults. In my practice, I support my clients with identifying their emotions, navigating various stressors, and implementing healthy lifestyle changes.
After initial introductions, I typically start first sessions by asking what brings the client to therapy at this time in their lives. Once clients share their presenting problem, we will mildly explore various life areas such as relationships, employment, and activities of interest to gain of sense of the clients day-to-day life. I also give clients an opportunity to share if there are any significant events they feel have greatly impacted their lives to explore any possible traumas or losses. Additionally, first sessions include a brief overview of my therapeutic style and a chance to discuss therapy expectations.
Throughout my career, I have developed the ability to facilitate candid conversations to foster authentic therapeutic relationships rooted in trust. In establishing trusting relationships, I have been able to engage clients in a way that makes them feel secure enough to discuss difficult topics and open enough to listen to feedback.
Throughout my career as a therapist, I have utilized CBT with many of my patients as I truly believe that the way we think influences our actions. Using CBT, we will explore the perspectives you uphold of yourself and those around you and reframe those perspectives in order to initiate behavior change.
Relational therapy is aimed towards addressing challenges in the relationships we maintain. In my practice, I explore the impacts of significant relationships throughout my clients' lives and delve into how these relationships have shaped the way clients interact with others. I work with my clients to support them in identifying the kind of relationships they want to have and establish healthy boundaries to improve the quality of their relationships.
