I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas. I have a Masters in School Counseling and have experience in treating adults and children in various settings. I believe that the client is the expert of their lives and a therapist's main function is to be a mirror and help the client manage difficult emotions. My approach with clients is Let's talk about it until YOU feel you are done talking about it. In the time I have spent on my professional journey, I have seen that I do particularly well in helping clients struggling through grief & adversity, including trauma. Although I do well in treating grief and trauma, I believe I am well equipped to help in the day-to-day struggles that all people face. I typically work with clients with anxiety and depression and teach coping skills until they find a skill that works for them. Treatment is earnestly thought out for each of my clients. I do not do a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
Hopefully this is after our consultation where the client has decided to have me as a part of their mental health journey and feels some sort of comfort. Client typically leads the session and I go right on side of them.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
I believe that having gone through my own struggles and walked the path of being wounded, I can understand a clients's mental health issues.
