What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Upon your initial meeting with a counselor, you will become familiar with each other and begin to build a trusting relationship. It is important that rapport is established early on, ensuring you feel comfortable and respected. The counselor will use active listening skills, maintain eye contact, and create a warm, non-judgmental environment. Additionally, the counselor will encourage open communication and validate your feelings. During this first session, reasons and goals for counseling will be created with the guidance of the counselor, aiming for measurable results. By fostering this connection, the counselor can effectively support you in your journey towards achieving your goals. This first session sets the tone for future interactions, laying the groundwork for a successful counseling experience grounded in empathy and understanding. The counselor will work with you to identify the key issues you wish to address and develop a personalized plan tailored to your needs. This collaborative approach ensures that you are an active participant in your own healing process, empowering you to make meaningful changes. Remember, the counseling experience is a partnership where your thoughts and feelings are valued, and your progress is celebrated.

EMDR

EMDR is primarily used to treat posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), but it can also be used to treat other psychological challenges, such as panic attacks, eating disorders, addictions, and anxiety.
