As an experienced therapist, I am dedicated to supporting you through life's challenges. Together, we will explore your unique journey and work towards healing and fulfillment. My goal is to meet you where you are, guiding you toward your most optimal path. I will provide you with valuable tools and insights that empower you to discover the healed person within.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first session will consist of me hearing your story. This will allow me to gather the information from your perspective. I will also inquire on what outcomes you expect and if you are familiar with counseling. We will communicate the goals you have for counseling. At the end, we will reach a mutual understanding of expectations and roles/responsibilities.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have over 20 years experience as a social worker. I have worked with various populations and am an intuitive counselor. In turn, I have been able to establish a best practice approach with the most optimal outcomes for clients.

My treatment methods

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

My practice for this treatment has shown positive outcomes. Mindfulness therapy provides care for clients with the intent of thought patterns that are disrupting emotions or actions. Clients can practice this method on a continuous basis to assist with anxiety, fear or other such emotions. This technique offers one of the tools for a coping mechanism during stressful or significant events.

Narrative

Narrative therapy helps me to meet the client were they are at. This method provides the client to tell "their story" in the most authentic way. Clients are able to reveal events that have shaped who they are and why they think or behave in certain ways. Through narrative therapy, the client and I are able to determine deep rooted thought/behavioral patterns.

Gender-affirming therapy

I have worked with clients who are trans or nonbinary. I was also certified back in early 2000's to provide gender affirming therapy. The journey for gender affirming transition is complicated and sometimes confusing for the client. This type of therapy helps the client with affirmation and validation. This technique also offers coping mechanisms for clients.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is a foundation for effective outcomes for clients. CBT is a method to assist clients with thoughts that hinder someone from moving forward and/or behaviors. As a therapist, I assist with changing these thoughts and behaviors within the context of the client's perspective and narrative.
