(she/her)
Hello and welcome! My name is Milea and I am a licensed psychotherapist based in Ohio and Indiana. My primary clinical focus is on trauma disorders, including PTSD and complex trauma. In working with individuals who struggle with symptoms of these issues, I use an eclectic range of modalities to help decrease symptoms, heal past wounds, and prevent hurtful cycles from continuing to repeat. My goal is to make the therapeutic process warm, nonjudgmental, and transformative for each person that I work with.
From a client perspective, the first session can be so anxiety inducing! My goal is to make the process feel comfortable, relaxed, and natural. During our first meeting, we will spend time getting to know one another. I will ask you several questions about what brought you to therapy, what you want to focus on, and what your interests and life are like outside of therapy. I will also tell you about my practice, what to expect from future sessions, and answer any questions that you have about the process.
One of my biggest strengths, and favorite things about being a therapist, is getting to be a real person in sessions. Being cold, sterile, and disengaged is not my style. I find that being authentic and down to earth in session makes the whole process so much more comfortable for everyone involved! I love providing the space for people to be themselves, and I love having the opportunity to laugh together even while we process the hard stuff.
If you often find yourself feeling unheard, misunderstood, or undeserving of the good in life, or you find yourself feeling like you’re “overreacting” to the things, or think “but it could have been worse,” then I believe we could be a great match! If you have tried therapy before and found that it wasn’t a great fit, or if you are new to the process and find it difficult to jump in, I encourage you to reach out and give it a shot. You deserve to heal, to grow, and to have the life that you dream of. I have special skills and experience working with individuals from the LGBTQ+ population, women, and teens, but I am open to working with any individual from any background.
