I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and Licensed Clinical Addictions Counselor with over 15 years of clinical experience across a wide range of settings — from community mental health and outpatient services to crisis intervention and nonprofit leadership. My work has spanned individual therapy, family therapy, substance use treatment, and domestic violence services, giving me a broad and grounded clinical perspective. I work best with adults across the lifespan, individuals and families, and men in particular — a population I am passionate about engaging in meaningful therapeutic work. I also have deep experience working with clients navigating substance misuse, life transitions, relational conflict, and the weight of simply feeling stuck. My approach is collaborative and practical. I draw on evidence-based methods including CBT, Motivational Interviewing, and family systems models to help clients understand themselves more clearly, strengthen their relationships, and build the skills to create real and lasting change. My goal is not just to help people feel better in the short term, but to equip them with tools they can carry forward long after therapy ends.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, my primary goal is simply to get to know you. We will spend time exploring who you are, your life history, and what has brought you to counseling at this point in time. I want to understand not just the challenges you are facing, but their history and context — because rarely does a problem exist in isolation from the broader story of a person's life. By the end of our first session, we will work together to identify specific goals and develop a collaborative treatment plan that reflects what you most want to see change. I want you to leave that first appointment with a clear sense of direction and confidence that we are working toward something meaningful together.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

What stands out most about my approach is my commitment to genuine collaboration. I do not see myself as the expert who has all the answers — rather, I see my role as a guide and partner in each client's journey toward health and growth. My goal is to walk alongside clients, helping them develop the skills, insight, and motivation they need to create meaningful change in their own lives. I believe lasting change comes from within. The techniques and frameworks I use — whether CBT, Motivational Interviewing, or family systems approaches — are always in service of empowering the client, not directing them. I want every person I work with to leave therapy feeling more capable, more self-aware, and more equipped to navigate life's challenges on their own terms.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am best positioned to serve adults across the lifespan — from young adults navigating life transitions to older adults managing the unique challenges that come with aging. I work with individuals and families, and have a particular strength in working with men, who are often underserved in mental health settings. I also have experience working with clients navigating substance misuse, supporting them in exploring their relationship with substances and building motivation for change. I am well-suited for clients who are motivated to understand themselves more deeply, improve their relationships, and develop practical skills for managing life's challenges. Whether someone is dealing with anxiety, depression, relational conflict, substance misuse, or simply feeling stuck, I bring a collaborative and strengths-based approach to helping them move forward.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have been trained in and utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as a primary treatment modality for over 15 years across a variety of clinical settings. In my practice, I help clients identify connections between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, drawing on core CBT techniques such as cognitive restructuring, behavioral activation, and skills-based psychoeducation. I tailor the approach to each client's individual goals within a warm, collaborative therapeutic relationship.

Family Therapy

I have significant experience providing family therapy, drawing on a variety of systemic treatment approaches. My training and practice includes Bowenian therapy — helping families understand intergenerational patterns and differentiation — as well as Structural Family Therapy, which focuses on reorganizing family dynamics and improving boundaries and hierarchy. I tailor my approach to the unique needs and goals of each family I work with.

Motivational Interviewing

I have extensive experience using Motivational Interviewing to help clients explore and resolve ambivalence when they are feeling stuck or resistant to change. I use this collaborative, client-centered approach to evoke each person's own motivation and strengthen their commitment to growth. MI is a consistent part of how I engage clients across a variety of presenting concerns and stages of readiness.
