I help countless people "figure it out". Whether you're battling anxiety, depression, self-esteem, or struggling with relationships, I believe you are the expert of your life. If you recently lost coverage or had an insurance change, I currently have openings and can discuss options. My mission is to empower individuals to navigate life’s challenges with resilience, clarity, and confidence. I take a holistic, client-centered approach rooted in the biopsychosocial model—addressing the interconnectedness of mind, body, and environment to support lasting well-being. Drawing from evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), I tailor each treatment plan to meet the unique needs of the person in front of me. I am also actively pursuing certification in Mind-Body Medicine through the Center for Mind Body Medicine and frequently integrate these techniques—such as meditation, guided imagery, and breathwork—into sessions to support emotional balance and self-regulation. With extensive training in geriatric assessment, I have a deep passion for working with older adults, helping them maintain cognitive and emotional vitality in later life. As a certified clinical supervisor with the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners, I am also committed to mentoring and developing the next generation of compassionate, skilled social workers. Above all, I strive to create a warm, supportive space where clients feel heard, valued, and empowered to move toward meaningful change.

Life is full of change, and sometimes those changes can feel overwhelming. I believe there is no single “right way” to handle life’s challenges, which is why I take a person-centered and integrative approach to therapy. My goal is to help you feel supported and more at ease with where you are while working toward where you want to be. Over the past 12 years, I’ve gained experience with a wide range of approaches including expressive arts therapy, solution-focused therapy, mindfulness, yoga, nature-based practices, nutrition, and relationship work. I enjoy bringing creativity and flexibility into sessions so that we can find what works best for you. I have a strong background in helping clients with worry, low mood, and spiritual concerns, and I strive to create a space where you can feel comfortable exploring any challenge you’re facing. I earned my Master’s in Social Work from Saint Leo University with a specialization in Advanced Clinical Practice. Before that, I completed a Bachelor of Arts in Interpersonal and Organizational Communication, with minors in Film and Creative Writing. My professional experience spans a variety of settings, including community health centers, private practice, child welfare, schools, nonprofits, and the Department of Veteran Affairs. Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, spending time in nature, watching movies, and participating in the arts. I am licensed in Florida, Idaho, South Carolina, and Utah. I work with cash-pay clients located in these states.

Hi! I'm a licensed counselor in Florida (LMHC), Texas (LPC-Supervisor), and Utah (LCMHC). With over a decade of experience, my journey in mental health began with a passion for helping individuals overcome life's challenges and achieve their fullest potential. Throughout my career, I have dedicated myself to continuous learning and professional development. I have specialized training in trauma-informed therapies, which allows me to provide compassionate and effective support to clients who have experienced trauma. Understanding the profound impact trauma can have on an individual's life, I am committed to creating a safe and nurturing environment where clients can explore their experiences and find healing. In addition to my work with individuals, I have a deep commitment to helping couples strengthen their relationships. I am trained in the Gottman Method, a research-based approach to couples therapy that focuses on building strong, healthy relationships. Using this method, I assist couples in navigating and healing from betrayals, enhancing their communication, and fostering a deeper connection. Witnessing couples transform their relationships and rediscover trust and intimacy is incredibly rewarding. Outside of my professional life, I am passionate about self-care and mindfulness. I often incorporate these practices into my therapy sessions, empowering clients to develop their own self-care routines. I believe that a holistic approach to mental health, which includes attention to physical, emotional, and mental well-being, is essential for achieving lasting positive change. Whether working with individuals or couples, my goal is to help my clients build resilience, find balance, and lead fulfilling lives. By providing a supportive and empathetic space, I strive to guide my clients on their journey towards healing and personal growth.

You may be the person everyone depends on. The one who keeps going, handles what needs to be done, and looks like you have it all together. But inside, you may feel anxious, overwhelmed, exhausted, or simply not like yourself anymore. Maybe you're facing a difficult transition or realizing that the ways you've always coped just aren't working anymore. I'm Jessica Velazquez, a bilingual (English/Spanish) Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over ten years of experience working with adolescents, adults, and families.
