I am a Licensed Clinical Therapist in Florida, Texas, and Utah with over 17+ years of professional work experience. I am also a Certified Clinical Trauma professional (CCTP) with experience in helping clients with PTSD, C-PTSD, coping with addictions, LGBTQ+ related issues, relationship issues, and family conflicts. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I will tailor our dialogue and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps toward positive change. I am here to support and empower you in that journey.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we will start with brief introductions and I will go over the Limits of Confidentiality within a therapeutic relationship. We will then discuss specific challenges you're experiencing and goals that you would like to achieve while in therapy. This will help me to create a tailored plan for us to navigate through in our future sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked in this field for 15+ years, I've developed ways for helping you identify the root causes of your challenges. I use a collaborative approach in creating a treatment plan in order to achieve measurable progress. I believe in being authentic and honest in my approach as we move towards a positive outcome.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I enjoy working with all individuals. Particularly adults and those experiencing difficulty within their relationship. These individuals often feel overwhelmed and are seeking guidance for improvement in communication, dealing with narcissistic traits, addiction, and hypervigilant behaviors.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is the modality of therapy I use most as a licensed clinician. I find this collaborative approach which focuses on the connections between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to be extremely helpful with changing negative thought patterns and maladaptive behaviors. Understanding that while we cannot control for all variables outside of ourselves, we can better manage our problems by creating a new narrative. In my practice I find that changed behaviors tend to follow this new narrative as we move in the direction of our strongest thoughts.

Motivational Interviewing

This modality of therapy is an evidence-based approach to talking with clients about change. It is designed to cultivate and strengthen the client's own commitment and motivation to effect that change. Establishing a supportive relationship between myself and my client elicits the development of a positive attitude towards the desired change. This is a practical, empathetic, and short-term process that is mindful of how difficult it is to make positive life changes.

Narrative

Narrative Therapy is a widely recognized and evidence-based approach in mental health that aims to help people reframe their personal narratives and gain a deeper understanding of themselves. In my practice, narrative therapy techniques may include: Externalizing conversations by helping people separate themselves from their problems. Deconstructing conversations by breaking down problematic narratives into smaller, more manageable parts. In my practice I assist the client in challenging the existing/dominant narrative and re-authoring the client's story in a more positive and empowering way.

Christian Counseling

In my practice I incorporate faith-based principles not solely but as a component of the therapeutic session. This form of Christian Counseling focuses on incorporating a person's spiritual beliefs in order to help the individual find meaning in their lives, as well as relief from negative symptomology.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

In my practice, Mindful-based cognitive therapy is an approach to therapy that uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in conjunction with meditative practices. Learning to be more aware of thoughts, feelings, emotions, surroundings and situations, to reduce emotional dysregulation and automatic negative reactions.
