Hi, I'm Katie, a Licensed Clinical Social. Helping and supporting others has been a driving factor in my life; therefore, I began my career as a teacher. My education and experience in the classroom greatly influenced me; however, I saw how difficult it is to learn when one is struggling with many emotional and mental health needs. While in graduate school, I transitioned to working with families in more of a case management role. During that time, I started noticing how the adults I worked with were often struggling and had not received the help they needed. After completing graduate school, I began working in an inpatient hospital that treats mental health and chemical dependency. After several years working with patients individually and facilitating group therapy, I transitioned to managing an intensive outpatient mental health program for senior adults. In this role, I facilitated group therapy and met with patients individually at times. I greatly enjoyed getting to know my clients and cheering alongside them as they made progress. While I value group therapy, I recognize that it is not the right fit for everyone. Therefore, I have set up a private practice to meet the needs of individuals in ways I was unable to do in previous roles. I believe change is possible and that each person has strengths and life experiences that they can draw upon to help themselves move forward. My passion is helping clients utilize what they already have, learn additional tools for coping, and develop healthier ways of thinking.

Hello, and congratulations on taking this step. Reaching out for counseling can take courage, and I'll work hard to provide a space where you feel respected, understood, and safe to speak honestly. I earned my master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Auburn University in 1999 and have worked in behavioral health for over 25 years. My experience includes serving as a full-time clinician, clinical supervisor, and clinical director of a community behavioral health center. I have also provided Military and Family Life Counseling at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base before opening my private practice. My current work is focused on helping individuals navigate trauma, anxiety, depression, stress, emotional overwhelm, life transitions, and relationship-related concerns. My approach is warm, collaborative, and practical. I do not see therapy as simply treating a diagnosis; I see it as working with you as a whole person, with strengths, fears, hopes, values, and goals. In our work together, I will listen carefully, but I will also be active in helping you identify patterns, understand difficult thoughts and emotions, build coping skills, and take meaningful steps toward the life you want to create. I will not take the stance that I am the expert on your life. Instead, I will walk alongside you and help guide the change process at a pace that feels respectful and manageable. That’s why I love matching your needs with the best type of therapy that’s also backed up with research to definitely be able to help you. I specialize in working with anxieties, depression, trauma, as well as with teens and parents. Life gets heavy. Anxiety, depression, and emotional overwhelm can make it hard to recognize yourself. It can feel like you're constantly bracing for the next hard thing. Maybe there was a moment recently where you thought "I can't keep doing this". A relationship that finally cracked. A morning you couldn't get up. A version of yourself you barely recognize anymore. That moment, the one that brought you here, matters. You're not broken. You're exhausted. And you don't have to keep figuring it out alone.

Hi, I’m Jenny! I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) dedicated to helping individuals and families navigate life’s challenges in a supportive, relaxed, and judgment-free environment. I’ve worked in community agencies, private practice, and with military families, giving me experience supporting children, teens, and adults through concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, grief, self-esteem struggles, and major life transitions. As a military spouse myself, I understand firsthand how overwhelming transitions, deployments, and constant change can feel. I bring both personal understanding and professional training into my work, including specialized training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). My approach is warm, collaborative, and tailored to each client’s unique needs, with a focus on helping you feel safe, understood, and empowered while building practical tools for everyday life.

You might feel like you’ve been carrying too much for too long—trying to keep it together while life feels heavier than it should. Maybe anxiety keeps running the show. Maybe you’ve been stuck in habits or patterns that don’t serve you anymore. Maybe you’ve gone through heartbreak, loss, or betrayal and can’t quite find your footing again. Or maybe you just know something’s off, and you’re tired of pretending everything’s fine. Here’s how I can help. Together, we’ll slow things down and get to the root of what’s really driving your emotions and behaviors—not just the surface stress, but the deeper patterns that keep showing up. I’ll help you develop tools to manage overwhelming thoughts and feelings in real time so you can start responding differently instead of reacting automatically. We’ll also focus on rebuilding your confidence and connection—with yourself and the people who matter most. That means learning how to trust your own instincts again, set boundaries without guilt, and create habits that actually last. Therapy with me isn’t about endlessly talking through problems—it’s about real movement. My goal is to help you feel lighter, more grounded, and genuinely hopeful about where you’re headed.

Frequently asked questions

Why filter by Utah rather than a city like Salt Lake City?

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in Utah. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Utah from St. George to Provo! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Utah.

Will my therapist take insurance?

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on Trauma and PTSD?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need. For example, your selected specialty, Trauma and PTSD, is filtering therapists in Utah that work with patients with similar concerns.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What happens during the first therapy session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
