New to Grow
I am an engaging and connecting type of therapist who helps you feel like you can talk openly and without reserve. I love getting to know my clients and truly feel honored to be in this helping profession. I want to be your biggest fan and cheerleader and can honestly say I do not judge my clients. I have heard the darkest and worst things and still find that I like my clients and want them to succeed. I have been in private practice for about 12 years but have been a therapist for about 15-16.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
It will be easier than you think! Most people report to me after the session is over that it was way better than they thought and they usually feel relief or hope. I do zoom sessions or if you prefer phone ones as well. I used to own brick and mortar buildings long ago but have been tele-health only the last 7 years. It is not as weird as it seems and there is such convenience in hopping on from wherever you are. You can be in your pajamas in bed, or fancied up in your office on your lunch break. Either will work for me!
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I feel one of my best strengths is how I view my clients. I view every client as more than a "client"; they are people, like me, who want to feel valuable and lovable and live fulfilling lives. We are all similar and there is connection and compassion in that. I am real with my clients and use humor and candor in our sessions. After 15 years I have seen it all and have high retention rates. I have experience working with many issues, including addictions, self-esteem, body image, relationships, boundary setting, anxiety, and depression etc.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I have honestly rarely found a client I could not help. I feel that most people, even the most anxious or reluctant client, find that after they meet with me they feel at ease, hopeful and do get better in whatever capacity they are seeking.
Attachment-based
I have seen that many of relationship issues may stem from attachment issues. I like to incorporate my training in this area when needed.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
I love to help my clients see solutions when they have a hard time finding them. This modality can be very beneficial in certain cases and scenarios.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
CBT is the most commonly used treatment modality and there are reasons for this. It works and is helpful for most clients. I blend a lot of my treatment modalities when I see fit or when a client has a
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
I have a lot of training in EFT and it is helpful when treating anyone with relational issues. And also to develop a better relationship with our self as well.
Trauma Informed Care
I have treated clients with complex trauma and feel equipped to handle this. I also feel that finding a counselor with this background is crucial if that is something you have in your history.
