Life is full of change, and sometimes those changes can feel overwhelming. I believe there is no single “right way” to handle life’s challenges, which is why I take a person-centered and integrative approach to therapy. My goal is to help you feel supported and more at ease with where you are while working toward where you want to be. Over the past 10 years, I’ve gained experience with a wide range of approaches including expressive arts therapy, solution-focused therapy, mindfulness, yoga, nature-based practices, nutrition, and relationship work. I enjoy bringing creativity and flexibility into sessions so that we can find what works best for you. I have a strong background in helping clients with worry, low mood, and spiritual concerns, and I strive to create a space where you can feel comfortable exploring any challenge you’re facing. I earned my Master’s in Social Work from Saint Leo University with a specialization in Advanced Clinical Practice. Before that, I completed a Bachelor of Arts in Interpersonal and Organizational Communication, with minors in Film and Creative Writing. My professional experience spans a variety of settings, including community health centers, private practice, child welfare, schools, nonprofits, and the Department of Veteran Affairs. Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, spending time in nature, watching movies, and participating in the arts. I am also licensed in Utah and work with both insurance and cash-pay clients located in the state.

Hello! Congratulations on taking this step toward living a happier and more meaningful life! It takes courage! I received a Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy in 1999 at Auburn University in Alabama and have been providing care ever since. I have worked as a full-time clinician, mentored and provided clinical supervision to new professionals and also oversaw a community behavioral health center for more than a decade as the clinical director. Most recently, I provided military and family life counseling at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson before opening a full-time private practice. An important goal of mine is to help you feel comfortable and confident that counseling is a safe place. I operate from a position of compassion and empathy. Together we work through the issues you are struggling with. I do not take the stance that I'm the expert on your life but instead will guide you through the change process at your own pace and readiness.

Hi, I’m Jenny! I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) practicing in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. I’ve had the privilege of working with people of all ages, but I especially enjoy helping adults navigate the ups and downs of life. My background includes working in community agencies, private practice, and with military families, which has given me a wide range of experience with challenges like anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, ADHD, and self-esteem struggles. As a military spouse myself, I understand firsthand how stressful transitions, deployments, and constant changes can feel. I bring that personal perspective into my work, along with specialized training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT).

Frequently asked questions

Why filter by Utah rather than a city like Salt Lake City?

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in the state. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Utah from St. George to Provo! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Utah.

Will my therapist take insurance?

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on Military/Veterans?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need. For example, your selected specialty, Military/Veterans, is filtering therapists in Utah that work with patients with similar concerns.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What to expect during your first session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs.

Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
