Hi, its nice to meet you. I have been a therapist for a decade now. Before being a therapist, I spent 20 years in Healthcare Administration with 17 of those in management. I share this because I understand the stress that comes with the "corp" world and management. After 20 years, I decided to change careers and utilize my skills in coaching and mentoring. I received my Master's in Mental Health Counseling from Walden University. I am a health and wellness focused licensed professional counselor, so I spend time talking about how to balance your life, your stress, and ensure you are having some fun in your life. Therapeutically I'm very eclectic. I use different techniques based on your needs. That being said, yes, I use CBT, DBT, REBT, talk therapy, and assessments as most therapists do. My primary focus is all types of Anxiety, ADHD testing in adults, Executive Functioning, Self-Confidence, Life Changes, and Couples/Relationship Counseling. I do have a "day job" so the work I do through Grow is part time, evening and most Saturdays.

Hello, I'm Janelle, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker dedicated to helping adolescents, young adults, adults, and older adults navigate life's challenges with compassion, authenticity, and practical support. I believe therapy should be a collaborative space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to create meaningful change. While my clinical background includes supporting individuals and families through serious medical diagnoses, chronic illness, pregnancy and postpartum journeys, caregiver stress, grief and loss, and end-of-life transitions, I also work with clients facing everyday challenges such as anxiety, depression, burnout, relationship concerns, stress, self-esteem, and major life transitions. Whether you're navigating a significant life event or simply feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or uncertain about your next steps, you don't have to face it alone. My approach is warm, collaborative, and strengths-based. I tailor therapy to each client's unique needs by integrating evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Solution-Focused Therapy, and mindfulness techniques. I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship is the foundation for meaningful change, and my goal is to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can gain insight, build resilience, and develop practical tools to help you move forward with confidence.

Hello, and congratulations on taking this step. Reaching out takes awareness, courage, and a real commitment to change — it requires to invite someone into your struggles. I've spent over 25 years working in behavioral health as a clinician, clinical supervisor, and clinical director. My career has taken me from a faith-based agency in New England to a community behavioral health center in northeastern Arizona, where I eventually led clinical services for 12 years, to providing counseling at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base — an experience that deepened my respect for military members and their families. I now own a private practice in Sahuarita, Arizona. My work focuses on helping individuals navigate trauma, anxiety, depression, stress, emotional overwhelm, and life transitions. I also welcome working with military veterans, people of faith, and individuals and families facing serious illness. In the spring of 2025, I was diagnosed with cancer. I have since completed treatment and am now cancer free — and that experience gave me a much deeper appreciation for what it means to face something that reshapes your world. I don't see therapy as simply treating a diagnosis. I see it as working with you as a whole person — your strengths, fears, hopes, values, pain, and goals. I'll listen carefully, but I'll also be active: helping you identify patterns, understand difficult thoughts and emotions, build coping skills, and take meaningful steps forward. I won't claim to be the expert on your life. My role is to walk alongside you and help guide the change process at a pace that feels respectful and manageable. I come from a military life style allowing me to travel the world and see all kinds of cultures. Because of this I see value in everyone. I believe in getting results in therapy. I want to see people change as fast as they want to or are willing to. So I give things to practice in every session. I believe in poly vagal theory and teach clients to release emotions from there nervous system not just cope with it. I often say I consider myself more of a trainer than therapist sometimes. I also help a lot with attachment struggles. I hope this gives you enough info about me to feel comfortable working with me. I am also very flexible with how I work with people.

Jerry grew up in the Midwest and had a former career as a federal wildland fire crew and EMT on municipal ambulances. He has since lived in five states and now calls Ogden home. EMDR, and Somatic therapies reconnects us with ourselves and releases trauma stored in our body. “As a therapist I am not afraid to walk through the hell of your wounds of fear, shame, and guilt because underneath all this there is an amazing person.” Many of us swim in anxiety, although the real confusion often comes in when you feel calmness and peace for the first time. Specialized in PTSD Jerry also helps with depression, anxiety and ADHD. I enjoy experiential therapy instead of talking in a loop. With experiential you feel and heal unfinished business(anxiety an trauma) in your nervous system. We will address different parts/dialogues in your thought patterns. Brainspotting(EMDR) which is difficult to explain, although most people report as the most profound healing they have had. Jerry is also trained in healing trauma through feeling into your authentic self prior to the trauma. While it is true that these therapies are intensive, we can also intensively feel into your calmness, connection, creativity, and clarity. Therapy should feel uncomfortable at times but never retraumatizing.

I enjoy working with adults through anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, and relationship challenges and have over a decade of experience. In our work together, I bring a grounded, compassionate, and curious approach that helps slow things down so we can understand what’s actually happening beneath the surface—not just the symptoms, but the patterns, experiences, and meanings behind them. I integrate trauma-informed care, DBT skills, and attachment-based work to help you build both insight and practical tools for change. Clients often come to me when they’re ready for something to feel different, even if they can’t fully explain what needs to shift yet. Together, we work to make sense of what has been shaping your emotional world and relationships, and we focus on creating new ways of responding that feel more steady, connected, and aligned with the life you want to build.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 10 years of experience supporting individuals with complex and high acuity mental health needs. My work is grounded in trauma informed and trauma responsive care, with a strong commitment to creating inclusive, affirming spaces for BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, neurodivergent clients, and individuals in rural communities. I work across the lifespan, including children (7+), adults, older adults, families, and couples. My approach is collaborative and empowering, centered on the belief that clients are the experts in their own lives and require my clinical expertise. I often describe my role as “working myself out of a job” to help clients build the insight, skills, and confidence needed to advocate for themselves and navigate systems independently. As a trauma specialist, I tailor evidence based interventions to each client’s identities, needs, strengths, and goals. My primary approaches include Somatic Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)-(EMDRIA certification pending), Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and psychodynamic therapy. I also integrate Internal Family Systems informed interventions, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, exposure based strategies, mindfulness, and other approaches as clinically appropriate. I adapt treatment for neurodivergent clients and clients with intellectual or developmental disabilities because therapy should adjust to the person and not require the person to adjust to therapy. I am continually shaped by the courage, insight, and lived experiences clients bring into our work. Every advanced training, specialty, certification, and state license reflect lessons learned from clients. I carry their trust, stories, and influence into every session with gratitude and responsibility. I help high-functioning adults reconnect with themselves and learn to trust their own judgment again. Many of the people I work with are thoughtful, capable adults who have spent years taking care of everyone else while quietly struggling themselves. They often appear successful on the outside but privately feel anxious, emotionally exhausted, overwhelmed, or disconnected from who they used to be. You may be recovering from betrayal, navigating a difficult relationship or divorce, struggling with perfectionism or people-pleasing, healing from trauma, or facing a major life transition. Somewhere along the way, you may have begun second-guessing yourself, losing confidence in your instincts, or wondering why life feels so much harder than it looks from the outside. My approach is warm, practical, and collaborative. Together, we'll make sense of the patterns keeping you stuck, calm your nervous system, reduce shame, strengthen healthy boundaries, and build the confidence to make choices that align with your values instead of fear or self-doubt. Therapy should leave you feeling understood, supported, and equipped with practical tools that make everyday life feel lighter.

We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Utah from St. George to Provo! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Utah.

Yes! If you use UnitedHealthcare/Optum you’ll be asked to verify your Member ID at the time you book the appointment. However, if you don’t have UnitedHealthcare/Optum you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
