About me

Hi my name is Jordan. I have over ten years of experience in the field of therapy and mental health. Everybody is different and getting to the roots of your trauma and gaining a strong awareness of your emotions and yourself on a daily basis will be a key starting point. After that we will find the right therapeutic approach for you. Whether it's EMDR to reprocess traumatic events, DBT to help gain coping skills for the strong emotions, CBT for reprograming those self-deprecating thoughts and behaviors, or ACT to help get you where you want to be in life no matter the circumstances. My goals is to get you feeling better quick and this is always possible! Developing a plan that is tailored to you and getting results fast is always a top priority within my practice!

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During your first session we can get to know you, talk about what you are facing, find out what you want from therapy, go over your goals, and make a plan that you feel good about. If you want to go deep into your trauma on the first session or keep some of those details out and focus on recent symptoms, I'm always willing to go at the pace you choose. Most first sessions cover recent trauma, life events, current difficulties, and what you are looking for in therapy. If we have time in the first session, we can gauge where anxiety, depression, ADHD, and OCD levels stand with a PHQ-9, GAD-7, YBOCS, and/or ADHD questionnaire. Gauging this early on allows you to see your progress along the way and get a good understanding of the whole picture. It is not unusual to see levels in anxiety, depression, OCD, and others drop quickly.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My approach focuses on the whole picture. It won't be based solely on deep breathing and in the moment coping techniques which you will find within dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT). This form of therapy is very important and will be used at some point, but it is a piece of a much larger picture. I utilize multiple different forms of therapy because they all play a specific differentiating role in healing, reforming thought patterns, changing behavior, and getting you to your final destination. I have a dual master's in behavioral science and have seen thousands of patients over the years which has given me some unique perspectives and a more in depth understanding of mental health. My goal is to bring what works into therapy, make sure you are heard, validated, empowered, and feeling better with each session. I have been told that I care, and I really hope this is what always comes across in therapy.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

Many of the clients I see are facing anxiety, depression, OCD, ADHD, PTSD, and BPD. This could look like a constant struggle to feel good about life, living with constant fear of the future, ruminating on what you see and how you look to others, not being able to stop thinking when you want your mind to shut off, or feeling like your life is out of control. Feeling better and being released from constant worry is very possible when using the right forms of therapy and treating the underlying issues. Many of the people I see mention they feel like they are not good enough, don't deserve love, a bad person, a disappointment, are different, can't trust, are not safe, can't get what they want, or are not in control. We can work through these concerns and change these patterns. they do not need to be permanent. Living with any of these can be painful, but it can turn around.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. I work with clients to identify negative or unhelpful thought patterns, examine the evidence behind those thoughts, and develop healthier and more realistic ways of thinking. We also identify behaviors that may be maintaining anxiety, depression, or other concerns and develop practical strategies to change them. I use CBT through structured discussion, cognitive restructuring, behavioral activation, coping skills, homework, and skill-building exercises. The goal is to help clients develop practical tools they can use independently to manage symptoms and improve their overall functioning.
