Hi, I'm Amber. I believe many of us spend years trying to find where we belong. Along the way, we learn how to adapt. We become who others need us to be, who our families expect us to be, who our workplaces reward us for being, who our relationships require us to be, or who feels easiest to love, understand, accept, or choose. Sometimes we become the peacekeeper. Sometimes the achiever. Sometimes the caretaker. Sometimes the one who stays quiet. Sometimes the one who becomes whatever is needed to maintain connection, acceptance, or belonging. Over time, it can become difficult to tell which parts of us feel genuinely ours and which parts developed in response to fear, loneliness, rejection, expectations, workplace demands, relationships, or the longing to be seen, understood, valued, accepted, and chosen. If you've found yourself asking questions like, "Why do I always feel different?", "Why do I feel like I don't quite fit?", "Why am I never chosen?", "Who am I beneath everyone else's expectations?", or "What parts of me no longer feel like mine?", you're not alone. I work best with adults navigating life transitions, grief, relationship challenges, identity shifts, or seasons of feeling disconnected from themselves. My work focuses on helping people explore these questions with curiosity and compassion, reconnect with the vibrant, authentic, parts of themselves that may have been buried beneath years of adaptation, and cultivate a stronger sense of belonging to themselves. I don't believe my role is to tell you who you are. I believe the most meaningful answers are rarely given to us. They are uncovered. My role is to help you slow down, become curious about your story, listen more closely to your voice, and reconnect with the parts of yourself that have been there all along.

My name is Kelsey and I have been working as a therapist for seven years, as well as working within the broader field of mental health since 2013. Over the years, I have worked with people across the lifespan with different life circumstances and reasons for seeking therapy. I particularly love working with individuals experiencing anxiety in various ways and trauma. I have specialized training and experience in treating eating disorders as well. I draw from a variety of approaches in session, including trauma-informed modalities such as IFS and EMDR. More importantly, though, I bring my authentic self into session, which includes a balance of warmth, compassion, understanding, emotional safety, support, curiosity, humor, and care.

Hi, I'm Jordan. I'm an avid hiker, gardener, and mother. I love being outdoors as much as my life will allow it, which varies a lot day to day. Over the past few years I've found a passion in working with OCD, PTSD, and related diagnoses with Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I believe it's important to identify areas where we avoid and hold ourselves back and make sure we are approaching them more openly before we box ourselves in too deeply. I am trained in ERP, DBT skills and DBT-PE (Prolonged Exposure), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). As a therapist I aim to find a balance between meeting everyone where they're at as well as challenging them to identify their barriers and get out of their comfort zones.

My approach is warm and nonjudgmental. There’s nothing that can’t be talked about together. I truly care for every one of my clients and I feel honored to be invited to be part of something so meaningful and life enhancing. I’ve experienced my own struggles with mental health and trauma and I’ve learned a lot: about how it feels, what has been helpful and that feeling content with yourself, your relationships and your life really is possible. Anxiety and OCD can be managed, traumas can be processed and healed, challenging and loving relationships can be strengthened. I specialize in OCD, anxiety, life transitions, trauma, parenting challenges and other relationship challenges. My goal with every client is to walk with them into being more fully themselves, like wading through the muck of difficult histories, seemingly impossible anxieties and fears and minds that learned long ago to sabotage rather than enable. And so we shake the muck off, even as we feel it’s almost swallowed us, by looking at it, taking it apart, recognizing patterns and learning new habits.

On the outside, you may have things together. But in your relationships, your reactions, or the habits you keep trying to change, something isn't working. You're tired of knowing better and still ending up in the same place. Maybe it's the same argument with your partner, anger that gets the best of you, anxiety you can't turn off, or a sexual behavior you've tried to stop. Maybe a breakup, betrayal, or loss has left you questioning things you once felt certain about. I offer direct, practical therapy focused on understanding what's getting in the way and helping you make changes that hold up in everyday life.

Hi! I'm Taylor Griner, a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, with over 8 years of experience in the mental health field. I earned my Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Florida State University and have dedicated my career to working alongside clients as they navigate life’s challenges and transitions. While I enjoy working with clients from all walks of life and don't make my own identity a focus in session, I think it can be important for LGBTQ+ clients to see their identities represented in their care providers. Welcome — this is a space where you can be honest, seen, and understood. I’m Shakea “Kea” Roper, LCSW, and I bring 17 years of clinical and social work experience to our therapeutic partnership. If you’ve ever felt stuck, overwhelmed, or burdened by cycles that just won’t shift — I see you. My style is active, grounded, and rooted in both compassion and challenge. Many clients say: “Kea listens like no one else — and she’s not afraid to stretch me when I need it.” I integrate evidence-based approaches (CBT, DBT, Solution-Focused, Strengths-Based, Brief Therapy) along with more specialized models: Making Sense of Your Worth (MSoYW): an 8-week group curriculum developed by HALO Project where we explore and heal the internal “lies” we believe about ourselves, rebuild toward positive self-worth and secure attachment. Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT): a structured, cognitive-behavioral system where we work through step-by-step exercises to enhance reasoning, decision-making, and a healthier identity (beyond self-destructive or impulsive patterns). I also actively engage in community work, and I’m currently pursuing my doctorate (which continues to deepen my perspective and rigor). Outside of sessions, you’ll often find me at board game night, crafting, or spending time with family. It’s an honor to walk alongside you. Nelson Mandela said, “Everything seems impossible until it’s done.” Let’s work together toward the possible. I’m currently accepting clients in Pennsylvania, Missouri, Kansas, Utah, North Dakota, and Nevada.

I believe that each one of us has the answers to our problems inside of us. However, sometimes we need someone on our journey to help us unlock those answers by asking the right questions---things you may not have considered, presenting proven strategies, and psychoeducation. Although, you will make strides with the energy and effort you give, the number one predictor that one will improve is the quality of the therapeutic relationship. I hope to provide a place of warmth, compassion, and acceptance in which you feel empowered and free to approach any concerns. I am here to help you along on your journey. I am a licensed mental health counselor in Arizona, Florida, Massachusetts, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, and Utah. I graduated from Florida Atlantic University with an Educational Specialist degree in Mental Health Counseling. I also earned a Master's of Art from Roosevelt University. I have experience working with youth and their families as well as adults. The theoretical framework that I usually draw from is Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy. I also apply Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing Techniques as needed. I address trauma, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, interpersonal skills, self-esteem, anger, problem-solving, and decision-making. In conjunction with therapy, I believe that exercise, proper nutrition, and good sleep hygiene are an integral part of overcoming mental health concerns. Change, even positive change can be challenging and uncomfortable. I hope to provide the necessary support as a champion of change.

If you recently lost coverage or had an insurance change, I currently have openings and can discuss options. My mission is to empower individuals to navigate life’s challenges with resilience, clarity, and confidence. I take a holistic, client-centered approach rooted in the biopsychosocial model—addressing the interconnectedness of mind, body, and environment to support lasting well-being. Drawing from evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), I tailor each treatment plan to meet the unique needs of the person in front of me. I am also actively pursuing certification in Mind-Body Medicine through the Center for Mind Body Medicine and frequently integrate these techniques—such as meditation, guided imagery, and breathwork—into sessions to support emotional balance and self-regulation. I have lived a life much like most of my clients. I have experienced hardships and achievements, sadness and joy, and disappointment in myself and in others. For most of my life, I have been lucky enough to somehow “figure it out” on my own. At one point in my life, I made a commitment to myself that no one should have to “figure it out” on their own. We all need to have someone who is committed to helping us out when we are at our most vulnerable.

Hi, I’m Romy, a bilingual Licensed Clinical Social Worker and the founder of Sana Sana Counseling, PLLC. As a first-generation college graduate and someone who was the first in my family to navigate the college experience, I understand the pressure that can come with balancing family expectations, identity, education, and building a life of your own. I’m a warm, down-to-earth therapist who believes therapy should feel like a space where you can show up as your whole self, without judgment or having to explain every part of who you are. I especially enjoy working with Latinx/Latina(o)/Hispanic clients, people of color, first-generation college students and professionals, and anyone navigating the complexities of culture, family, relationships, and identity. My approach is compassionate, culturally responsive, and rooted in understanding how our past experiences can shape the way we relate to ourselves and others. I have experience supporting clients through grief and loss, trauma, relational and attachment concerns, anxiety and depression, college and academic stress, and major life transitions. Whether you’re working through something painful from the past, feeling stuck in the present, or simply trying to figure out what comes next, my goal is to help you feel understood, build awareness, and develop tools that support the life and relationships you want. If you want a therapist who "just gets it," look no further and book today. I look forward to working with you.

Jerry grew up in the Midwest and had a former career as a federal wildland fire crew and EMT on municipal ambulances. He has since lived in five states and now calls Ogden home. EMDR, and Somatic therapies reconnects us with ourselves and releases trauma stored in our body. “As a therapist I am not afraid to walk through the hell of your wounds of fear, shame, and guilt because underneath all this there is an amazing person.” Many of us swim in anxiety, although the real confusion often comes in when you feel calmness and peace for the first time. Specialized in PTSD Jerry also helps with depression, anxiety and ADHD. I enjoy experiential therapy instead of talking in a loop. With experiential you feel and heal unfinished business(anxiety an trauma) in your nervous system. We will address different parts/dialogues in your thought patterns. Brainspotting(EMDR) which is difficult to explain, although most people report as the most profound healing they have had. Jerry is also trained in healing trauma through feeling into your authentic self prior to the trauma. While it is true that these therapies are intensive, we can also intensively feel into your calmness, connection, creativity, and clarity. Therapy should feel uncomfortable at times but never retraumatizing.

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over a decade of experience helping people heal from trauma, navigate life transitions, and reconnect with themselves in meaningful ways. Originally from Maine, my journey has taken me across the US, different countries, and through many different communities, including serving in the U.S. Air Force. These experiences continue to shape my approach—bringing structure, adaptability, and a deep respect for each person’s story. My clinical background includes extensive work with military members, veterans, first responders, and women facing anxiety, self-worth challenges, and complex relational or identity struggles. I understand what it means to carry invisible weight—and how important it is to have a safe space to unpack it. I specialize in trauma-informed care, using EMDR, Brainspotting, somatic therapy, and attachment-based approaches to support deep, lasting healing. I take a bottom-up perspective, helping clients explore how the body holds on to difficult experiences and gently work through what’s been stuck. I also integrate CBT and Emotion-Focused Therapy to support insight, emotional regulation, and self-compassion. Clients often describe me as grounding, warm, and collaborative—with just the right amount of directness. I believe healing isn’t about fixing what’s broken, but about reconnecting with your own inner strength, clarity, and capacity to grow. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, uncertain, or stuck, you’re not alone. I’ll meet you where you are, and together we’ll move toward clarity, healing, and a stronger sense of self.

Frequently asked questions

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in Utah. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Utah from St. George to Provo! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Utah.

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need. For example, your selected specialty, Self Esteem, is filtering therapists in Utah that work with patients with similar concerns.

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
