My name is Tobias (He/Him/His). I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LCSW/LICSW) with 13 years of professional work experience. I recieved my Masters from the University of Utah. I have many roles in life, in addition to being a therapist, I was born in the United States. I am a son and a brother in a blended family. In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, I will gather some personal background information, develop treatment goals with you-related to the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me understand your unique circumstance, and create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion regardless of your background, BIPOC, creed, disability, LGBTQIA+, alternative lifestyle, or religion. I also strive to be culturally affirming and respect the positive elements that all cultures can provide to a client's sense of well-being. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.
My therapeutic approach is based on the concept that there is not a one-size-fits-all approach to healing and well-being. Each client is unique and needs an approach that is tailored specifically for them. My therapeutic approach draws on many evidence-based therapeutic interventions, which include: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person Centered/Strengths Based, Psychodynamic, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Emotion Regulation Skills System.
