Many people come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or exhausted from trying to manage everything on their own. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, or challenges with eating and body image, therapy can be a place to slow down, feel understood, and begin making meaningful changes. I work with adolescents and adults and strive to create a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel safe being themselves. My approach is collaborative and practical — together we explore patterns that may be keeping you stuck, build coping strategies that actually fit your life, and work toward goals that matter to you. I use an evidence-based approach that includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and mindfulness-based techniques. I tailor therapy to each individual’s unique needs, strengths, and experiences. Whether you are dealing with constant worry, low self-esteem, relationship stress, emotional eating, perfectionism, or simply feeling disconnected from yourself, you do not have to navigate it alone. I want to help people heal the relationship they have with themselves, their emotions, and their bodies.”

Out of my 63 years of life in this planet, 28 of those years have been spent assisting others within a diverse number of areas and environments. Narcissistic Abuse/Antagonistic personality style partner or other person in your life? As part of my work with individuals dealing with divorce, widowhood, and coparenting, I provide care and assistance for individuals directly or indirectly involved in relationship with an individual who displays behaviors which may indicate a narcissistic or antagonistic personality style. Note: It is neither possible or ethical for a provider to diagnose an individual who has not come in for assessment/diagnosis/treatment. However, a provider can work with an individual to learn to cope and navigate difficult relationships with difficult individuals. In addition to individual in partner relationships with such an individual, I also work with family members who are struggling with how to relate, support, and cope with a loved one who appears to be entangled in such a relationship. Complex circumstances need to be considered in deciding whether to remain in the relationship or to consider it's necessary to consider leaving. For folks who have separated or divorced from such a situation, the recovery and aftermath intervention and support is often needed on order to heal, restore, and recover. If children and the courts are involved, there are additional areas to address. I also provide care for adults who are highly intelligent and possibly/likely on the spectrum. Regardless of or whether an adult is diagnosable with autism, being highly intelligent can present with social and emotional challenges. On the side, I enjoy writing, performing, teaching, and recording music, both vocal and guitar. Life brings seasons of joy, challenge, uncertainty, and growth — and Scripture reminds us that “He has made everything beautiful in its time” (Ecclesiastes 3:11, NKJV). You were never meant to navigate these seasons alone. If you’re seeking a counselor who approaches healing with a pastor’s heart and a Christ‑centered worldview, I’m here to walk alongside you. I believe every person is created by God with purpose, dignity, and a calling that is uniquely theirs. My work is rooted in helping individuals rediscover that purpose and experience the hope, clarity, and restoration that come from aligning their lives with God’s truth. Whether you, your child, your spouse, or a family member is facing anxiety, walking through a difficult transition, or longing for deeper spiritual and personal growth, you will be met with compassion, prayerful support, and practical guidance. At Hope Connection Counseling & Therapy, the heart of this ministry is simple: to help people live with intention and step into the destiny God has prepared for them. This practice was founded out of a God‑given dream — a desire to create a safe, grace‑filled space where individuals can be honest, find healing, and experience the transforming work of Christ in their lives. If this resonates with your spirit, I invite you to reach out. You were created on purpose and for a purpose. Whatever season you’re in, God is still at work, and you don’t have to walk this journey alone. It would be an honor to support you as you pursue the life He has called you to live.

I am Dr. Ann Dillard, a licensed marriage and family therapist. I am a relational and trauma-informed therapist specializing in mother–daughter relationships, attachment repair, and culturally grounded healing. My work centers on helping high-functioning women and adult daughters who feel successful on the outside but are internally burdened by anxiety, unresolved trauma, complex family dynamics, or betrayal wounds. Many of the women I serve have carried responsibility for years, often as the strong one, the peacemaker, or the overachiever. They may struggle with boundaries, emotional safety, or patterns that seem to repeat across generations. Together, we gently untangle those inherited narratives and relational patterns so you can understand not only what happened to you but also how they continue to live in your body and relationships today. My approach goes beyond traditional talk therapy. I integrate brain–body modalities such as Brainspotting, somatic therapies, attachment-based work, and parts-informed approaches to access healing at both the cognitive and subcortical levels. This allows us to work directly with the nervous system, where trauma, attachment injuries, and relational imprints are often stored. As a therapist and researcher, my doctoral work focused on culturally nuanced mother–daughter dynamics, particularly within Caribbean-American and cross-cultural contexts. I understand how culture, migration, faith, and generational expectations shape identity, attachment, and emotional expression. I provide a space where those complexities are honored rather than pathologized. My goal is for more than symptom reduction. It is a transformation. I help women move from survival patterns to relational clarity, from emotional reactivity to embodied stability, and from inherited scripts to authentic self-expression. Healing in my practice is intentional, grounded, and sustainable.

Many people come to therapy carrying stress, anxiety, relationship challenges, or past experiences while continuing to manage daily responsibilities. Conversations are honest and thoughtful, with a focus on understanding the whole person rather than just one concern. I recognize these aren't simply about food; they're deeply intertwined with emotional complexity, cognitive patterns, and questions of self that demand thorough, empathetic treatment. Through my specialized Modified DBT training, I help clients navigate overwhelming feelings while building healthier ways of coping. Beyond this, I support people experiencing depression who want active, goal-oriented approaches to confront negative thinking and rediscover purpose. I work with trauma survivors prepared to work through painful experiences, individuals with mood disorders seeking greater equilibrium, and those navigating identity questions tied to life changes, relationships, or core values. I have experience working with both adolescents and adults, supporting individuals through substance use concerns, infertility, adoption journeys, and a wide range of mental health challenges. Whether you’re navigating a specific life transition or feeling weighed down by ongoing struggles, you don’t have to face it alone. I deeply respect the courage it takes to seek help. Reaching out is often the hardest step, and it’s also a powerful one. I’ve seen how people develop incredible strength, resilience, and clarity as they move through life’s difficulties. My role is to support you in discovering that strength within yourself and to walk with you as you build the life you want and deserve. If you’re ready to begin—or even just considering it—I welcome the opportunity to connect.

I'm Marissa, a therapist for women who carry it all. The ones who hold everyone else together while quietly losing themselves underneath it. My work is for the woman who looks fine on the outside and is exhausted on the inside. Together we make space for you to set it down, name what it's costing you, and slowly find your way back to yourself.

Hello, my name is Matthew Cruz, but many people call me Matt. I specialize in treating adult individuals. I enjoy talking with people about their problems, offering them support, and helping them to find a way forward. My background is in treating substance use and Eating Disorders. As such, I am familiar with a variety of treatment approaches, including CBT, DBT, and Motivational Interviewing. However, I am looking for what approach works for each individual and am not attached to any one mode of treatment. I enjoy helping people explore meaning and symbolism in their world through a person centered approach to treatment. For those that are interested, I am comfortable incorporating faith and spiritual practice into the treatment experience. I do not provide couples or family therapy. Feel free to reach out to me with further questions!

Hello! My name is Clover and I am a licensed clinical therapist and addiction specialist in the state of North Carolina. I look forward to the opportunity of learning and working together as part of our therapeutic process. I enjoy working with folks who are gender diverse and members of the LGBTQIA+ community who experience unique stressors and conflicts with their day-to-day lives. I also love working with folks who struggle with substance use either in addition to other life stressors or on its own especially in the context of substance use disorders being highly stigmatized. I focus on substance use treatment approaches with a functionality mindset to work on setting reasonable goals and expectations during the clinical process. I started my clinical work with addiction and grew as a therapist and person to see people from a whole-person perspective. Our difficulties, conflicts, our stressors do not define us for who we are and when they prevent or delay us from becoming our authentic selves is where the therapeutic process blossoms. I believe everybody is always in a constant process of growing into our best selves and I hope to have the opportunity to work with you along this process too.

It is my greatest honor to build genuine connections with clients while witnessing them grow right out of therapy! I’m a bit of an odd duck - energetic, sincere and known to enjoy a good laugh in session. To amplify the impacts of traditional therapy methods (primarily CBT), I enjoy helping clients blend their unique talents, interests and spirituality into our work together. The types of spiritual concepts/beliefs/practices I'm most familiar with include Mysticism, Nonduality and Christianity. I am also a creative soul who is passionate about supporting clients' artistic expression to reach goals more efficiently and increase overall long-term wellbeing. *Please note: I do not offer testing for ADHD, autism or bipolar disorders.

Frequently asked questions

Why filter by Minnesota rather than a city like Minneapolis?

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in Minnesota. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Minnesota from Saint Paul to Rochester! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Minnesota.

Will my therapist take EAP:Cigna?

Yes! If you use EAP:Cigna you’ll be asked to verify your Member ID at the time you book the appointment. However, if you don’t have EAP:Cigna you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on a specific issue?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What happens during the first therapy session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
