New to Grow
Hello, my name is Ashley, and I’m a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in Minnesota. I received my Master of Arts in Counseling and my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Crown College, and I’ve had the privilege of supporting individuals, couples, children, and families from a wide range of backgrounds and life experiences. At the heart of my work is a deep belief that each person is the author of their own story. I see counseling as a sacred space—where healing, clarity, and growth can unfold without judgment. My role is to walk with you through whatever season you’re in, helping you process emotions, navigate trauma, and reconnect with your own voice and values. Whether you're facing grief, anxiety, relational conflict, or simply feeling stuck, I’m here to support you with compassion and curiosity. I work with clients navigating: Anxiety and depression Family conflict and relational stress Grief and loss Trauma and recovery Life transitions and identity shifts Stress management Eating disorders and body image concerns Self-esteem and personal growth Personality disorders and emotional regulation challenges I strive to create a space where you feel safe, seen, and empowered—where your story matters and your healing is honored. Outside of my work, I’m a mother of four who enjoys reading, walking, and spending time with my family. I’m a lifelong learner and love expanding my knowledge of psychology and the human experience.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Your first session is a chance for us to slow down, get to know each other, and begin understanding what brings you to therapy. I’ll invite you to share at your own pace—there’s no pressure to have everything figured out or to tell your whole story right away. Together, we’ll explore what you’ve been experiencing, what you’re hoping for, and what feels most important for us to focus on. I’ll ask gentle, grounding questions to help us understand your concerns, your strengths, and the patterns that may be shaping your current season of life. We’ll also talk about what you need to feel safe, supported, and understood in the therapy space. By the end of our first session, you can expect to have a clearer sense of how we might work together, what your goals could look like, and what the next steps may be. My intention is for you to leave feeling heard, respected, and hopeful about the path ahead.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is my ability to create a space where clients feel genuinely safe, seen, and understood. I bring a calm, steady presence to the room, offering gentle honesty and grounded support as we explore the emotions, patterns, and experiences shaping your life. I’m skilled at helping clients make sense of complex internal worlds—untangling thoughts, identifying patterns, and building practical tools for emotional regulation, boundaries, and self‑compassion. My approach blends warmth with structure, allowing clients to feel both supported and guided as they move toward meaningful change. I’m also deeply attuned to the stories people carry. Whether you’re navigating trauma, grief, anxiety, or relational stress, I help you reconnect with your strengths, your values, and the parts of yourself that may have been overlooked or silenced. Clients often tell me they appreciate my ability to hold difficult emotions with steadiness while still offering clarity, insight, and hope. Above all, I’m committed to honoring your dignity, your pace, and your unique path toward healing.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I work best with clients who are ready to look inward—people who may feel overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected, but who are open to exploring their emotions with honesty and curiosity. My ideal clients are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship stress, or major life transitions, and they’re seeking a space where they can slow down, feel understood, and begin making sense of what they’re carrying. Many of the people I work with are high‑functioning on the outside but struggling internally, often feeling exhausted by old patterns or unsure how to move forward. Others come in wanting to understand themselves more deeply, build healthier boundaries, or develop practical skills for emotional regulation and self‑compassion. I’m especially drawn to clients who value a warm, collaborative approach—people who want a therapist who will walk alongside them, offer gentle honesty, and help them reconnect with their own voice, values, and resilience. Whether you’re beginning therapy for the first time or returning after a difficult season, I’m here to support your growth with steadiness, dignity, and respect.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I have extensive experience using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in my work with clients. I use CBT to help people identify the patterns of thinking that shape their emotions and behaviors, and together we practice skills to challenge unhelpful thoughts and build healthier coping strategies. In session, I take a collaborative, practical approach—teaching tools, exploring real‑life examples, and helping clients apply these strategies outside of therapy so they can see meaningful, lasting change.
