Hello, my name is Susan, and I am a therapist who is passionate about helping individuals understand themselves, and help them to move toward the lives they want to build. My approach is collaborative, and compassionate. I meet individuals where they are and work alongside them to create meaningful, effective change. At the core of my practice is a simple belief; individuals do better when they feel understood, supported, and empowered.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

I strive to help make your first session feel welcoming, calm, and safe. We will begin by getting to know each other. I'll invite you to share whatever feels important-what brought you here, what you're hoping for, and what you'd like life to feel like moving forward. This will be a time where you may ask any questions or concerns that you may have. You are encouraged to ask questions at anytime during sessions, and if you don't have any at the first session, that is okay.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I strive to help individuals feel safe, and understood. I bring a calm, steady presence that helps the individual feel that they can be who they are. I have experience in seeing how thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and past experiences connect together.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am most effective with adults who are ready for a therapy experience that is collaborative, and where the individual has a need to understand themselves more deeply while also building techniques and strategies they can use in daily life. You don't need to have the "right words" or a clear plan, you just need a willingness to explore what's going on inside you.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In my practice, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as a way to collaborate and empower individuals through learning to understand the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

In my practice, I use Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) as a structured, skills-based approach that helps individuals learn to regulate intense emotions, and build healthier relationships.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

In my practice, I use Mindfulness-Based Therapy as a slow, present focused approach that helps individuals to be able to relate to themselves with greater compassion.

Psychoeducation

Psychoeducation is a foundational part that I use in therapy to help give individuals knowledge that helps them understand themselves.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

In my practice, I use Solution-Focused Brief Therapy as a way to collaborate, empower, and give hope to individuals to help them move toward the future they want rather than staying stuck in what isn't working.
