Hello! I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and have been practicing in Minnesota for 18 years. My hope as a therapist is to build relationships and work collaboratively with individuals to address their specific goals. My intention is to bring an accepting, inviting and non-judgemental presence into each session, with encouragement in helping you navigate life’s challenges and assisting you in developing strategies and skills to make positive changes in your life. In addition to working as a therapist, I also have 25 years experience working as a school counselor.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we will focus on getting to know each other and exploring your reasons for seeking therapy. I'll ask about your current concerns, personal history, and what goals you hope to achieve through our work together. This session is a safe, non-judgmental space where you can share openly, and together, we’ll begin to create a plan tailored to your needs, whether through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Brief Treatment (SFBT), or other approaches that fit your situation.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I believe my greatest strength as a provider is creating a warm, non-judgmental, and supportive environment where clients feel safe to explore their thoughts and emotions. I focus on building a strong therapeutic relationship, fostering trust and openness, which empowers clients to take meaningful steps toward positive change. By offering compassionate guidance and encouragement, I help clients gain the confidence to address challenges and achieve their goals for personal growth and well-being.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

As a therapist with expertise in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. By using CBT techniques such as cognitive restructuring and mindfulness, I guide clients in overcoming negative thinking patterns and developing healthier coping strategies. My goal is to create a supportive, collaborative space where clients can build resilience and achieve lasting emotional growth.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Solution Focused Brief Treatment (SFBT) is centered around helping clients to identify their strengths and focus on solutions. This goal-oriented approach helps clients clarify what they want to achieve and develop actionable steps to reach those goals. By emphasizing positive change and resilience, clients are empowered to create meaningful progress in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

With experience in Mindfulness-Based Therapy, I integrate mindfulness practices such as meditation and breathing exercises into sessions to help clients learn to be present as they develop self-awareness and acceptance. I assist and encourage clients to observe their thoughts and feelings without judgment, fostering emotional regulation and resilience. This approach is particularly beneficial for clients managing anxiety, depression, and stress, as it provides them with tools to stay grounded, gain insight into their thought patterns, and cultivate a calm, balanced mindset.
