New to Grow
Hello! I'm so happy you're here! I am a licensed independent clinical social worker (LICSW). I began my career in Florida before returning home to Minnesota. My experience started in a hospital setting, supporting adults facing addiction, homelessness, anxiety, postpartum depression, grief, loss, and life transitions. My goal is to help you feel heard, understood, and supported as you process your emotions. Together, we’ll explore what matters most to you and take steps toward healing that feel meaningful and manageable. I aim to help you reconnect with your own inner strength. Whether we’re using cognitive tools or motivational approaches, therapy is grounded in care and built around what feels safe and meaningful for you.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In our first session, we’ll take the time to get to know each other and explore what brings you to therapy. You can expect a safe space to share what’s on your mind and begin to clarify your feelings and goals. By the end of the session, you’ll have a clearer sense of how we might work together and some initial steps to start moving forward.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
My strength lies in creating a space where individuals feel safe, understood, and truly seen. I draw from a variety of approaches, including cognitive behavioral therapy, strengths-based strategies, and motivational interviewing, tailoring my work to what feels meaningful and supportive for you. I focus on helping you reconnect with your own inner strength, rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach, so therapy is guided by your needs, goals, and pace.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I thrive connecting with individuals who are navigating difficult life changes or working to understand their emotions, especially those who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or uncertain about the future. I’m particularly suited to support clients who want a calm, empathetic space to explore their feelings and reconnect with their own inner strength. Whether your goal is to process change, improve emotional well-being, or create meaningful shifts in your life, I aim to meet you where you are and support you in taking steps that feel right for you.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use tools from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help individuals better understand how thoughts, emotions, and daily habits impact their well-being. In sessions, we will explore patterns that may be getting in the way and work together to find more supportive and realistic ways of coping rather than using a one-size-fits all approach.
Strength-Based
I recognize showing up to therapy takes vulnerability, especially when exploring long-standing or deeply personal concerns. Individuals I work with are often their own harshest critics and may struggle to recognize their existing strengths. I aim to support individuals in developing awareness of these qualities so they can build confidence.
Motivational Interviewing
I help individuals explore what’s important to them and uncover their own motivation for change using Motivational Interviewing. I aim to be calm, empathetic, and down-to-earth, creating a space where you feel heard and supported. Together, we’ll figure out goals and take steps that feel meaningful and achievable.
Grief Therapy
I support individuals navigating grief and loss by providing a calm and compassionate space to process their emotions. Grief can be confusing, overwhelming, and isolating. My goal is to help you feel seen, understood, and supported as you find your own way forward. Together, we’ll honor your experience, explore what matters to you, and take steps toward healing at your own pace.
