New clients continue care with this provider

Hello! I am from the state of Michigan but I also have licenses in Utah and Pennsylvania. I have been in practice for 6 years. I work with people 16 and up, both online and in person. I have a passion for helping people who are struggling whether that be trying to navigate a big life change or just being the best version of yourself for you, not everyone around you.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, I want to take the time to really get to know you and where you are coming from. We'll start with a history of you, where you came from and where you want to be. From there we can work on setting goals and plan for follow-up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Clients have said that sessions with me feel like talking with a friend that isn't afraid to tell them the truth. I do my best to make clients feel comfortable and relaxed enough to talk through things that are troubling them but if I feel like you are avoiding things I'm not afraid to give a gentle push.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I love working with people that are motivated and ready to make changes that will have a positive impact on their life. Sometimes people that are ready to improve don't yet have the tools needed to take that leap forward. They often feel stagnant, overwhelmed and anxious.

My treatment methods

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I practice from a person-centered perspective, which means that I view the therapist-client relationship as a partnership. I believe that the client is the expert on their own life, and my job is to help them harness their strengths and resources to make changes. I also pull resources from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and sometimes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), with a bit of Motivational Interviewing (MI) thrown in. These are all evidence-based approaches that have been shown to be effective in treating a variety of mental health concerns. If you have any questions about treatment modalities, please don’t be afraid to ask!
