(she/her)
I'm a first generation Asian-American woman, providing care for 11 years. I specialize in supporting children and adults in navigating life's challenges, managing anxiety, building communication skills and adjusting to changes. I use Client-Centered Therapy, Art and Play Therapy, and CBT with a collaborative, non-directive approach tailored to your needs. Together, we’ll explore practical tools that work for you to strengthen stress management.
The first session is called an intake. During the intake, you can expect to share why you're seeking therapy at this time, your expectations from therapy and your provider (me), past therapy experiences, and you can ask me questions as well! Talking to a stranger can be hard and I'm here to provide as much clarification and comfort as possible. We will also be reviewing policies and expectations and if you're a minor, we will end with some free time (typically a game of your choice from a list of options). If during the session either of us feel we may not be a good fit for each other, I will provide appropriate resources and referrals so you can continue to make the best choice for your health.
I meet you where you are and work with you at your pace. If you have a goal in mind, that's what we will work towards. If you're confused and don't know where to start, we will identify goals collaboratively. When you feel stuck, I offer suggestions or challenges based on themes/topics discussed during the assessment phase of therapy to support you in identifying what is most important to you and where you would like to see change. I use a jolly, yet soft and warm tone, and I create a welcoming, safe, validating, and fun environment even through the virtual platform (or so I've been told). My clients often share that they feel heard, seen, understood, and feel a difference after 1-2 months of starting their care journey with me.
Feeling stressed, anxious, tired or lonely? Having low motivation? Struggling to understand your emotions, to communicate your needs, or unsure where to start? You're not alone. If you're dealing with the weight of past trauma, current life stressors, or just feeling overwhelmed, taking the first step towards healing is the hardest part—but you don’t have to go through this alone. Let's work together to understand your feelings, find clarity, and harness your strengths to create a path towards a balanced self.
I take a person-centered, compassion based approach in treatment. I believe you have strengths, I listen to those, and support you in using them to navigate through stressors and life events.
I believe validation and compassion are also love languages. They are needed just as much as our basic needs are. I show compassion as I listen to your narrative and create a judgment free space for you to be your authentic self.
