New to Grow
I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC). I received a Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Science from the University of Utah and a Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from Walden University. My approach is Client centered with an emphasis on Self-acceptance, using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help correct distorted thinking, while including problem solving and coping skills. I specialize in helping build Self-esteem, managing depression and anxiety as well as processing trauma. My passion is helping people overcome obstacles in their lives that prevent them from moving forward to find peace and fulfillment. Aside from my work, I enjoy spending time with my daughter, enjoying the outdoors, especially by any body of water, going to movies, live theater and traveling.
Our first session (Intake) will be spent finding out about you and your background, your current situation, and creating a treatment plan designed specifically for you.
Using compassion and empathy, our sessions will be spent discussing issues and working through the treatment plan to track progress and help you with the obstacles you are facing.
I work with people struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, and grief. I use CBT to challenge faulty thoughts that impact a person's mood and life. I use self-acceptance and strive to build and increase my client's self-esteem. I also help clients process past trauma in a very proactive manner and identify behaviors that might be holding them back. My ideal client will be someone who is willing to put in the work needed to make progress in their lives.
With Cognitive Behavioral Therapy we challenge faulty thinking and work to improve thought processes, especially those that directly affect our mood and well being.
