Hello! My name is Megan, I have been in the mental health world since 2016 and I have been practicing individual therapy since 2021. I serve a variety of clients with a wide range of challenges. Most clients I work with see progress in their mental health screenings within the first 3 sessions. I meet with clients for short term solution focused therapy as well as long term-ongoing treatment.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In the first session you can expect to complete what's called an initial evaluation. I will ask you lots of questions about your history and what is bringing you into therapy. This will be your chance to share your thoughts and your prior experience with therapy. This is also a good time to ask questions about therapy if you have them. In the first session we will come up with goals to guide our treatment and I will share my intervention(s) to be used based on the symptoms you are experiencing.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

What stands out about my approach is that I provide a judgement-free space for clients to feel safe, supported, and understood. I help my clients to develop practical coping skills while offering empathy and insight to patterns of behavior. My goal is to help clients create meaningful change and growth in their lives.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am best able to serve clients who are struggling with anxiety, creative individuals, members of the LGBTQ+ community, neurodiverse populations, professionals, those struggling with life transitions, and victims of trauma. I work best with clients who enjoy being introspective or wish to be more introspective. I also enjoy working with clients who are on a path of self discovery.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I help client's to better recognize the patterns between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. I help clients identify root causes of negative thoughts such as trauma or negative self talk. I also help clients develop healthier alternatives to unhelpful thinking patterns.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I use DBT to help client better manage distressing emotions. I also help clients to reduce the impact of their negative emotions to improve relationships and reduce harmful behaviors. I combine mindfulness and acceptance techniques to assist clients who wish to better cope with their emotions.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

I use Internal Family Systems to help clients identify subconscious "parts" of self that come out in different interactions. I assist clients in healing from childhood wounds and embrace more playful, compassionate, and confident parts of themselves.

Exposure Response Prevention (ERP)

I utilize ERP to assist clients struggling with anxiety, PTSD, OCD and others. We develop an "exposure hierarchy" and tackle each anxiety provoking stimuli one by one. Clients are encouraged to identify potential triggers, warning signs of being triggered, and coping skills to manage anxiety. This can assist with feeling more confident and resilient in the face of adversity.
