My ideal client is someone who recognizes that life presents with many challenges and understands that receiving help is not a sign of weakness, rather it is strength. Those life challenges maybe due to stress, health issues, family conflicts, or something more, but they are looking to identify, process, and gain needed support and skills to conquer those challenges. They are looking for someone who will encourage them, keep them accountable, and be open and honest with them. I feel that therapy is more than an occupation for me, rather it is a calling. I will be a listening ear, support, encourager, and support for my clients. I believe that encouraging is a gift which I possess and freely give, and when my clients are going through some of their toughest battles, understanding that they are not alone really matters. There are many different providers who are looking to support and help clients, which is good, because finding the right provider absolutely makes a difference. I want to be a support, sounding board, and ally to work through crisis, challenges, and even give a different perspective. Life is hard, but finding the right provider should not be.

I work with women navigating life transitions, including changes in relationships, family roles, and health. These experiences can bring anxiety, emotional overwhelm, and the effects of trauma into focus, and can influence how thoughts, emotions, and the body interact. As a yoga teacher and yoga therapist for over 25 years, mindfulness is a natural part of my work and informs how I understand and approach the mind body connection. I integrate mindfulness based stress reduction, mindfulness based cognitive therapy, and somatic therapy into sessions in a way that supports awareness and emotional regulation. My training as a Licensed Professional Counselor in Pennsylvania, Florida, South Carolina and Delaware allows me to bring these approaches together in a way that is both clinically grounded and also responsive to your experience.

I am a Colorado and South Carolina Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with extensive experience working with: individuals in the midst of grief and other major phase-of-life transitions like divorce, job loss, legal challenges, etc.; teenagers who are struggling with a variety of mental health challenges; couples and families that are struggling to find common ground; and fractured families prior to, during, and after divorce. Building strong families, even through divorce or custody battles, incarceration, or other prolonged periods of estrangement, is a particular area of focus for me. I offer reintegration therapy services for parents and children who have experienced short- and long-term separation or alienation. I love working with families who want to find a way to function better post-divorce. In addition, I spent a decade working for the Alzheimer's Association, which included counseling individuals and families who were facing a diagnosis of dementia. Prior to venturing into the counseling field, I ran a non-profit that operated a 100-bed homeless shelter, a family transitional housing program, and an eight-unit supportive housing project for Veterans. I have a heart for working with military veterans and their families -- having 22 years of service in the US Air Force myself. I served on Active Duty for 6 years, and after a break in service, completed another 16 years as a Reservist. My spouse served alongside me, with each of us deploying twice. Our son is currently serving as well. Therefore, I have been the deployed service member, the spouse left to manage things back home, and the mom watching her "baby" deploy to far-off places. There is almost no part of military service I do not understand through first-hand experience.

Hey there, I'm really glad you're here. Let me tell you a bit about why therapy is so meaningful to me. I began my own journey into therapy when I was younger, facing similar struggles to what you might be experiencing now. It wasn't easy, but therapy became my light during those tough times. If you're ready to take that step, I'm here to walk alongside you, helping you find the tools you need to feel better.

Hi, I’m Michelle. If you feel overwhelmed, disorganized, stuck in procrastination, or frustrated that everyday tasks seem harder than they should, you’re not alone, and you’re not lazy or broken. I specialize in helping adults with ADHD, including those who are newly diagnosed, have lived with ADHD for years, or are beginning to wonder whether ADHD may explain some of their struggles. Together, we explore how ADHD may affect the way you think, feel, function, relate to others, and navigate everyday life. My approach is warm, collaborative, practical, and strengths-based. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based therapy, psychoeducation, and executive-functioning support to help reduce shame, increase self-understanding, and build practical tools that fit your life and the way your brain works. When appropriate, I may also incorporate EMDR to address distressing experiences, chronic shame, or negative beliefs that have developed through years of criticism, rejection, or feeling misunderstood. My work is also shaped by personal experience with ADHD, which has provided additional perspective alongside my professional training. This combination allows me to approach clients with both clinical expertise and an appreciation for the nuanced ways ADHD can affect daily life. My goal is to help you feel more confident, capable, and supported in creating a life that works with your brain rather than against it. For clients who would like to incorporate their faith into therapy, I also offer Christian counseling in a supportive and natural way.

Are you exploring your identity, sexuality, or self-image? Are you seeking a therapist who can provide an atmosphere where you feel comfortable enough to vent, find relief, and explore your story– however unconventional it may be? Do you crave a space where you can find yourself or be encouraged to be the expert on your life while being held accountable for your goals? If you want to live a life that aligns with your values or true identity while communicating and reinforcing your boundaries, I can help you get there. Together, using strength-based and person-centered therapy with a psychodynamic touch (and a healthy dose of humor), we can partner and begin your journey to building the confidence to be who you are and enhancing your strengths. If you’re ready to build a happy, thriving life while being true to yourself, let’s chat today. I come from a military family that has been located throughout the United States, allowing me the opportunity to meet people from varying cultures and backgrounds. This has contributed to my ability to become more culturally competent and open-minded when working with different clients. When I’m not in therapist mode, I’m... Now Accepting New Clients. Navigating through the journey of life we inevitably run into hindrances that challenge our momentum. Change is hard and can often be sudden and unpredictable, leaving us without the proper tools to cope with these changes. We have to learn to acclimate to our surroundings on our terms. Whether it's a traumatic response, addiction, grief and loss, anxiety, loss of confidence, feeling lost and overwhelmed, feelings of depression or stagnation, there's hope. It takes courage to look into a mirror and see who's looking back, it takes strength to want to make a change and hope to inspire change. My goal is to inspire Hope. Fluent in Spanish and passionate about guiding people through life’s challenges, I hold a Master’s in Social Work from Walden University, a Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice from Colorado Technical University, and an Associate’s in Criminal Justice from Pikes Peak State College. With over a decade of experience as a caseworker, substance abuse counselor, and therapist, I’ve had the privilege of working with diverse clients facing real-life struggles and in need of daily support. Life can be tough, and we all face difficult moments—whether it’s a breakup, divorce, grief, the loss of a loved one or pet, or even a job loss. In these times, having an unbiased person to offer support can make a world of difference. I see trauma as an unexpected part of life that is often hard to process, but with the right help, it can be managed and overcome healthily. I’ve personally experienced more than my share of trauma, grief, loss, sadness, depression, and substance use, and I sought help to work through them. My approach to therapy is centered on helping people in the best way possible, always with an open mind. I often use Maslow’s hierarchy of needs as a guide, because I believe mental health is hard to prioritize when physical needs aren’t met, or issues like homelessness or substance abuse are present. I enjoy working with clients from age 5 to older adults who face Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, PTSD, Mood Disorders, Personality Disorders, and other mental health or substance use challenges. It’s easy to fight battles alone and suffer in silence, but you don’t have to anymore—together, we can work toward healing and a better future.

Hi there — I’m Madison (Gabriel) Long, LCMHC, NCC, a licensed therapist based in North Carolina and South Carolina, and I’m passionate about helping people move from feeling stuck into genuinely living. My training includes trauma-focused CBT (TF-CBT), child-centered play therapy (CCPT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR), and I’m currently pursuing certification in Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C). Whether you’re navigating the unique emotional terrain of pregnancy or postpartum, healing from past trauma, or managing the ever-changing demands of parenting and family life, I’m here with you — through the ups, downs, and in-between. I offer virtual therapy so you can meet with me from wherever you are in NC, right when it works for you. I do this work because I believe growth happens when we feel safe enough to face what we’ve been avoiding, and strong enough to embrace the next step. Not only have I been where many of you are, I’ve also had the privilege to see clients emerge from seasons of pain, parenting chaos, trauma’s shadow, and come into more grounded, more resilient selves — and it is an honor to be part of that process. If you’re ready to start feeling grounded, nourished, and confident again — I’d be honored to walk beside you.

Hello! My name is Max Croteau and I have had the pleasure of being a licensed professional counselor for almost 10 years now. In this time, I have been able to mold my style of understanding, accepting while also challenging and motivational into a successful model of growth and change for those who choose to work with me. I truly am a believer that therapy can sometimes be a side-by-side process, or it can be a process where one guides and the other follows, but ultimately the choice is up to you. I don’t want you to live a life that I tell you to live. I want to help you find a life that is truly a genuine fit for yourself and one that you can see yourself living without even having to think about it. I’ve specialized in addiction, OCD, trauma therapy, family and couples counseling and various other topics in the world of mental health. One important factor that I have found is that each person has their own individual story and their journey will be just as individualized. No matter how similar, we are all different. A cookie cutter approach to the rest of your life is not something that you will get from me. I will truly meet you where you are and work with you every step of the way to achieve the success that you are looking for. I always guarantee every person I work with that therapy may not be easy, but in the end, it will be incredibly worthwhile. I’d love to start and/or continue that journey. Growth has no final destination, just the journey. It’s up to you what path you’d like to take.

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
