New to Grow
Hello, I’m Dr. Bree Wannamaker, a Licensed Professional Counselor & Supervisor, in South Carolina. I am passionate about helping individuals, couples, clergy, helping professionals, and leaders find clarity, healing, peace, and purpose through therapy that is compassionate, practical, and tailored to their unique needs. I have approximately 15 years of clinical counseling experience and over a decade of supervising and mentoring counselors. I understand that life can bring seasons of stress, uncertainty, grief, relationship challenges, and personal transitions that can feel overwhelming. Whether you are navigating anxiety, burnout, emotional exhaustion, communication difficulties, career stress, loss, or significant life changes, I strive to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you can feel heard, valued, and empowered. My counseling approach is collaborative, person-centered, and grounded in evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Reality Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Client-Centered Therapy, and Problem-Solving Therapy. I believe every individual possesses strengths and resilience, and my role is to help you identify those strengths while developing practical tools to overcome obstacles and create meaningful, lasting change. For clients who desire it, I also offer faith-integrated counseling that thoughtfully incorporates spiritual beliefs and values into the therapeutic process. I recognize that for many people, faith can be an important source of strength, healing, and hope during difficult times. In addition to providing individual and couples counseling, I offer support through Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs), clinical supervision for counseling professionals, and wellness-focused consultation services. My goal is to help clients move beyond simply surviving and toward thriving in their personal, relational, professional, and spiritual lives. Seeking support is a courageous step, and you do not have to walk through life's challenges alone. I would be honored to partner with you on your journey toward healing, growth, and overall well-being.
During our first session we will simply talk. My goal is to gain an understanding of what brings you into the counseling space. There may be times it can be difficult to describe, but we will work through that together. My 2nd goal is to help you to walk away with a small nugget that you are able to incorporate into your life, while we develop a plan for the rest.
One of the things I believe makes me stand out is my genuine care and concern for my client. I truly believe that every individual has the power to change their lives, one small step at a time. I think that my sense of humor and the ability to meet my clients where they are creates a space of comfort to foster growth.
My ideal client is an individual, couple, clergy member, or helping professional who is ready to invest in their emotional, relational, and personal well-being. They may be navigating life transitions, stress, grief, trauma, relationship challenges, burnout, anxiety, or questions related to faith and identity. While they do not need to have all the answers, they are open to self-reflection, personal growth, and developing healthier coping strategies. Together, we work toward healing, increased self-awareness, stronger relationships, and a greater sense of purpose and balance in life.
