If you’re ready to build a happy, thriving life while being true to yourself, let’s chat today. I come from a military family that has been located throughout the United States, allowing me the opportunity to meet people from varying cultures and backgrounds. This has contributed to my ability to become more culturally competent and open-minded when working with different clients. When I’m not in therapist mode, I’m... Imagine life is like a journey completely in your control but you feel stuck. Choices you make dictate life’s obstacles and they can be tricky. Life’s journey comes with no instruction pamphlet or ready-made companions. A path unfolds and you decide what to do and who to trust along the way. As you journey you begin to see things you want, potential companions, places you want to explore, and tools you can use to make travels simpler. There are so many choices to make with no time to stop and contemplate the best decision; you have to keep going by making choices every day, about everything. Decisions and deadlines do not wait. Consequences of decisions do not wait for preparations of readiness. Age does not determine how hard life can be nor deter reality. Whether you are age 5 or 95, you have to wake up daily and continue life’s journey, but it is not always an easy task. My theoretical orientation is Person-Centered Therapy and Gestalt Therapy. Let me be your Phoenix! I believe life’s tools are inside of us, self-actualization, self-trust, coping strategies, and the willingness to grow. We simply must explore them. At Rapunzel's Phoenix Counseling Services, I help toddlers, children, adolescents, adults, families, and the LGBTQIAPK community. Online Counseling Services are available upon request.

Hi, I am a licensed mental health counselor who focuses on identity transformation! I work with those who feel the achievements are there, yet still feels misaligned in what you do versus who you truly are. This identity crisis shows up in subtle ways - the anxiety that greets you before meetings, the exhaustion from maintaining the "strong Black woman" image, the longing for relationships where you can finally be real. I want you to know that transformation is possible. That having more alignment and authenticity in the way you show up is possible. In our work together, we'll move beyond just understanding why you code-switch or people-please and help your system find its way back to your truth using Internal Family Systems therapy. Imagine walking into any room fully grounded in who you are. Picture making decisions from your core self, not from old wounds. It's time to transform your relationship with yourself - to heal those outdated identities and create a life that truly feels like yours.

Social work chose me! When I wrote my personal essay for my MSW, I realized social work had always surrounded me. I remember helping elderly neighbors, teaching friends how to count money, and researching services for my autistic brother. There were so many events between those gaps and yet to come. I always desired to help people. My brother’s diagnosis widened my eyes to my calling, but life had other plans for me and I became a secretary. As a secretary, I found myself being hired in the mental health arena, including the areas of AIDS research, mental health, addiction services, and college counseling. Social work is my second career but it's always been my first passion. I pull from both my personal and professional experiences and allow these experiences to teach and mold me.

Frequently asked questions

Why filter by state rather than a city?

Why filter by state rather than a city? When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in the state. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across the entire state. If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near your address.

Will my therapist take insurance?

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on a specific issue?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

What are the "Clients say I'm" badges?

Grow Therapy asks patients about their experience with therapists after they have had a certain number of sessions. After enough responses, we add those characteristics to their profiles to help you find the best online therapists for you. We're still working on collecting this information from all our therapists.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What to expect during your first session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs.

Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
