(she/her)
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 14 years of experience in the field of Social Work. My experience includes working with individuals with chronic illnesses in the primary care setting, hospice care (both community and inpatient), and end-of-life care for those with terminal illnesses. My primary focus areas in therapy are stress management, goal setting, self-esteem, anxiety, and life transitions. My goal is to help clients gain an understanding of themselves that helps them gain clarity and lead to positive life changes.
You will share the concerns you are facing so that we can identify and prioritize your needs.
My compassion for others is my strength. Life is full of highs and lows, ups and downs, good times and bad times that can cause us to feel like we are on an emotional roller coaster. I will help you examine and prioritize what is important to you which will help you to create a plan of action to move you forward. My goal is to help instill hope and motivate my clients to take control of their lives and to be their best.
I am interested in assisting those who deal with uncertainty in decision-making, people who have trouble relaxing due to the thoughts that they are having, deal with anxiety on a seemingly regular basis, and those with low self-esteem. I see individuals who have suffered loss and trauma that currently impacts their idea of who they are, and people who struggle with the ability to manage their lives and/or relationships.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use this method to assist my client in understanding the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. I help clients to identify distorted thinking patterns that may be contributing to emotional distress, anxiety, and/or unwanted behaviors. I explore with my clients the ways in which their thoughts influence their feelings and actions and guide them in challenging and reframing thoughts into a more balanced and realistic perspective.
EMDR
I use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing to help my clients process distressing experiences that continue to impact them presently. I offer a safe, supportive, and collaborative environment that helps my clients to feel empowered throughout their healing process.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
I use this method to assist clients in identifying resources/tools/ past coping that has helped them to manage in the past to assist them in understanding and identifying the skills they already possess that can facilitate change in their lives. I ask questions that allow my clients to envision a future without the problem, which inspire hope, and helps the client to develop solutions that work for them.
Motivational Interviewing
I use this method to assist my clients in identifying and understanding their motivation to change. Change can feel overwhelming and impossible in some cases; I assist my clients in understanding and moving past the ambivalence they feel when making changes in their lives.
