I received my Master's degree at Central Connecticut University in 2014. I gained my experience in various positions including: inpatient mental health, outpatient therapy, crisis work, group therapy, substance abuse, and DSS in home therapy. I have worked with individuals experiencing grief, depression, anxiety, psychosis, and trauma. Since I have been working in the field of mental health for the past 20 years, I have expanded my knowledge to better help any future clients.
In the first session, we will complete an intake and work on building a therapeutic relationship. I am a therapist that truly believes that the client is the best person to consult in regards to their own mental health. I will work with the client to build a treatment plan based on their interest and specific needs. I like to help others but in a fun and interesting way. I have never been considered boring.
I am empathic. I am uniquely able perceive other's feelings to help identify the issue at hand.
I love a client who is open to the process. In regards to therapy, you have to trust the process. Therapy does not work overnight but it also does not have to last for 20 years.
I primarily start with Solution Focused Brief Therapy to help establish a rapport.
I utilize EMDR to help clients to process their trauma. I am EMDR trained.
