Hi, I am a compassionate Counselor with knowledge and experience necessary to help you unpack pain, heal and become healthy. I will help you understand how trauma affects emotions, thoughts and behavior. I have experience providing individual, family, and couples therapy. I teach healthy coping skills and assist clients with identifying triggers and symptoms of depression and anxiety. Along with identifying the triggers and symptoms I teach relaxation and mindfulness techniques to help clients reduce depressed mood and negative thinking. I help clients with mood disorders learn to manage symptoms due to life stressors and unresolved trauma.
In our first session we will begin to build a therapeutic relationship. We will identify your needs and set up a plan for you to achieve your treatment goals and scheduled ongoing sessions.
As my client you will benefit from my ability to actively listen, meet you where you are and provide you with unconditional positive regard.
My dream clients are individuals who understand that there is not a trick to therapy, and the Therapist does not have a cure. My dream client must understand that identify their need for therapy is the first step. They will need to understand that the work will be challenging. They will need to be open and ready to do the work.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is used to challenge and change thoughts that are negatively impacting emotions and behaviors. Mindshift Therapist help clients Change the Story and become the narrator.
Couples Counseling
Mindshift Therapist use tips and points from The Gottman Method exploring the couples relationship by helping disarm conflicting verbal communications, increase intimacy, respect and affection. We work with individuals remove barriers, create a heightened sense of empathy and understanding within the relationship.
Christian Counseling
Mindshift Therapist use God's word as a foundation to assist clients with identifying who they are and are called to be and viewing themselves from a positive perspective. Mindshift therapist avoids religiosity and focuses on meeting you where you are and helping you find the inner tools to be successful and manage life stressors.
