**Due to demand; regretfully, unable to accept "couples" at this time** I am Dr. Kawakami and I have been in the mental health and addiction field for over 20 years. I am a practicing Licensed Professional Counselor, a National Board Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist, an author, an empowering media personality, and a proud veteran of the United States Army. You may have seen me as "The Mind Doctor®" on hit TV shows such as Bravo’s Married To Medicine, VH1’s Love and Hip Hop, WEtv's Bold & Bougie, WEtv’s Growing Up Hip Hop Atlanta working with rapper, producer, actor, and superstar Bow Wow, and WEtv’s Brat Loves Judy with rapper, producer, actress, and Funkdafied super star, DaBrat! While I have been viewed by millions of people on television, my humble beginnings actually started on television as a six-month-old baby being placed for adoption and featured on the “Thursday’s Child of The Week” segment. After being adopted in Los Angeles, California, I grew up in a multi-cultural family from East Side San Jose, California. Prior to earning my Ph.D. in Psychology via an academic institution, I had already earned my Ph.D. in "Hustling" via the streets of the Bay Area in the dope game. I acknowledge a divine intervention and acknowledge, “Only God could have me go from selling dope and destroying lives to offering hope and restoring lives. Look at Gawwwwd!”

We all face challenges—some big, some small—that can deeply impact our lives. These struggles can feel overwhelming, draining our mind, body, and spirit. I understand this personally, having walked through my own experiences with depression and anxiety. With the support of God, professionals, and family, I was able to grow stronger through those difficult times. My journey led me from Nursing into the field of Counseling, where I now feel called to help others find hope, healing, and strength in the midst of their own challenges.

We all need support in dealing with life's challenges, but sometimes just asking for help can feel as overwhelming as the problems for which we are seeking support. I provide a holistic approach to therapy by incorporating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with other therapeutic modalities, including Brainspotting (which is a tool to access neurobiological trauma experiences that are stored deep within the subcortical brain). Building and practicing coping skills is a vital part of therapy with me. Whether you are looking to learn new ways of dealing with behavioral, emotional, or relationship patterns, I offer my clients a compassionate, supportive, yet challenging environment in which to achieve their full potential. Hi, I’m Jaylin. I’m a licensed professional counselor, a mother, a woman of faith, and a human being who has had her own share of late-night questions, heavy seasons, and quiet breakthroughs. I became a therapist long before I had the title. Life taught me how to hold space, how to listen beneath the surface, and how to walk with people through fear, grief, transition, and the deep ache of wanting more out of life and relationships. I know what it’s like to carry responsibility, to feel stretched thin, to question your purpose, to love deeply, and to rebuild yourself after seasons that shook everything. My approach is calm, real, and non-judgmental. I don’t believe in forcing you into a mold or talking over your experience. I believe in helping you reconnect with the wisdom, strength, and clarity that’s already inside you—because I’ve had to find my own, too. Healing isn’t about pretending things are fine; it’s about having a safe place to lay it all down and grow at your own pace. If you’re looking for a therapist who understands both the emotional and spiritual layers of this journey—and who can meet you with empathy, honesty, and a little bit of hard-earned insight—I’d love to walk with you. You don’t have to figure everything out alone. You’re allowed to be held while you find your way.

I help high-achieving women move from feeling overwhelmed and stuck to feeling calm, confident, and in control of their lives. Many of my clients are navigating divorce, breakups, or major life transitions and are ready to rebuild, not stay in confusion or dysfunction. They’ve already made the decision to leave unhealthy relationships and are now focused on healing, identity, peace, and purpose. You’re looking for more than just a space to talk. You want practical tools, emotional support, and a results-driven approach. In therapy, we create strategies to help you manage mild anxiety, stress, overwhelm, burnout, and adjustment-related challenges, while building self-trust, boundaries, and emotional independence. I understand these transitions on a personal level. I’ve walked through divorce, burnout, and seasons of carrying it all alone. Because of that, I offer a grounded, relatable approach where you can be vulnerable and honest while still being challenged to grow. If you’re ready to step into the next chapter of your life with clarity and confidence, I’d be honored to support you.

I am a seasoned Clinical Social Worker with over a decade of experience supporting individuals and families through complex emotional and mental health challenges. Holding a Doctorate in Clinical Social Work, I bring a deep commitment to evidence-based practice, trauma-informed care, and client-centered support. My path to becoming a mental health provider has been deeply rooted in a commitment to supporting children, families, and communities. I began my career working closely with young people and their families, which shaped my understanding of the importance of early, compassionate intervention. After earning my Master’s in Social Work, I worked as a school-based therapist, where I witnessed the transformative power of accessible, empathetic care within educational settings. Currently, after I pursued my Doctorate in Social Work, my focus has expanded to helping individuals of all ages reach their full potential and experience greater happiness and fulfillment in life. I bring a strengths-based, client-centered approach to every session, grounded in evidence-based practice and a genuine belief in the capacity for growth and healing. My work is not just a profession—it’s a lifelong commitment to walking alongside others on their journey toward well-being and empowerment.

My name is James Fetner, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I work with children, teens, and young adults outside of Grow, though on here I am open to all ages. I graduated with a Master's of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2019 and have been practicing since, except during a year and a half period where I was unable to work due to long-Covid. I specialize in addressing trauma, depression, anxiety, anger, and ADHD. If you read my whole bio and think I may be a good fit but these are not your areas of need, or you have one or more of these in addition to another diagnosis that I have less, but still some, experience with (bipolar, substance use, OCD, etc), feel free to reach out anyway to discuss or schedule an intake if you like.

Do you feel you are everywhere and nowhere simultaneously? Are you struggling to figure out how to find balance or real happiness? Do you want to change your life but just don't know how? Hi, I am Crystal and I am here to help! But HOW can I help, you may be thinking? Well, I can provide you with a safe and non judgemental space in which you can re-focus on what is truly important to you by walking along side of you on your therapeutic journey of self-awareness. Together we will develop a treatment plan that will help us reach your desired outcomes. I have found that incorporating the arts into therapy is quite beneficial since sometimes words can not capture our emotions as intensely or as accurately as a song or piece of art can. I also love to use mindfulness and bibliotherapy with clients and have been amazed at the success of using all of these approaches. You have taken the first step towards your new life already by researching which led you here. Won't you take that next step and connect today so that we can begin your journey? Change is hard, but I will be here to support you every step of the way!

Frequently asked questions

Why filter by Georgia rather than a city like Atlanta?

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in Georgia. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Georgia from Athens to Savannah! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Georgia.

Will my therapist take Golden Rule?

Yes! If you use Golden Rule you’ll be asked to verify your Member ID at the time you book the appointment. However, if you don’t have Golden Rule you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on a specific issue?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What happens during the first therapy session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
