Welcome! I'm so glad we have found each other. My name is Sara and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based out of Georgia. Would you describe yourself as goal-oriented? If so, I’d love to come alongside you as you work to create change in your life by providing some tools to build empowerment and competence as you navigate life transitions and challenges.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, you can expect a brief orientation to beginning therapy together. This will include general introductions as we get to know each other, and then diving into utilizing the remainder of your session to collaborate and identify goals to build a plan for our time together.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked with individuals struggling with a wide range of mental health needs over the past 5 years, I have developed a breadth of skills that allows me to adapt my training and experience to your individual needs. I truly enjoy working with individuals who have experienced trauma in their lives and are now hoping to move forward into their futures with purpose. The therapy space we sit in together is non-judgmental and cultivated with warmth to support you as you piece together your story that's still being written. I have specific experience working with survivors of sexual trauma, interpersonal violence, and veterans. In my work with individuals identifying with these populations, I strive to build a therapeutic relationship that supports your feelings of safety as we process the most difficult moments of your story - together. I see you as an individual, full of inherent dignity and worth, and therefore tailor my knowledge to your needs and goals. I see you through a lens of empathy, and therefore view the challenges you share with a spirit of non-judgment and unconditional positive regard. I also see your action of showing up as the best first action you can take for your mental health journey, and honor your presence here.

My treatment methods

Prolonged Exposure Therapy

Prolonged Exposure Therapy is an evidence-based model to support individuals who have experienced trauma in their lives. The goal of PE therapy is to empower a person to reclaim domains of their life that may be adversely affected by trauma through building up exposure in a safe and supportive environment. I have completed intensive training and consultation, and have been using PE therapy in my practice since 2022.

Daialectical Behavior (DBT)

A foundational aspect of my work with individuals is introducing and applying DBT skills-building. The four modules of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (Mindfulness, Emotion Regulation, Interpersonal Effectiveness, Distress Tolerance) provide a plethora of skills that I have seen support individuals in building feels of competence in managing their mental health needs.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is enlightening to individuals who have felt burdened and confused with their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Utilizing a CBT framework to address the various challenges of individuals I have worked with offers new perspective and increased clarity to make choices for change in the future.
